In reply to those who have commented that Dido Harding is "not even" a health professional, I'm not sure one needs to be a health professional to run a health service. Most GP practice managers are not health professionals but people qualified to 'run' the office side and the logistics of delivering a health service.
Which is not me saying that I think Dido Harding is the right person to be CEO of the NHS – I am not in a position to judge that – only that not being a health professional doesn't disqualify her, nor anyone else who might apply for the job.
