Biden’s government has substituted Mother with Birthing People in their Health budget document - what next will Father become Sperm Donor or seed planter? and what will happen to Mother’s Day. angry

It is a strike against women clothed in political correctness. That is the sort of thing that makes people turn to the likes of Donald Trump, ironically. I always thought these extreme views have a lot in common. Pure misogyny.

Totally crazy and I'm so sick of this woke rubbish.

I understand the Green Party now describe women as non-men. What woman would vote for such garbage.

Really?! Surely not?

Should I start designing "Happy Birthing People's Day" cards and corner the market?

So how is it supporting women to deny them the right to become men if they wish, and to give birth? It's the usual discrimination- only people (women) like me count, those who are different must conform to my standards.
Who needs patriachy there are women who will do the job as well if not better than men.

I’m not denying a woman the right to say she is a man. That’s up to her, but it doesn’t mean that a male can give birth. He, she or it gives birth as a female.

This has to win the GN irony award for 2021.

Women are being made into non-men, and you support this, yet claim that those who speak up against it are supporting the patriarchy?

timetogo2016 Fri 18-Jun-21 23:15:16

Exactly buddy1954.
The world has gone bluddy crazy to appease the plebing minority.

ginny Fri 18-Jun-21 22:57:35

Call yourself what you will. Man, woman, trans man, trans woman, non binary etc. No problem.
so far as I know, so far only a person biologically born as a woman can give birth .

Yep I m in agreement with the rest of posters you can’t give birth without a womb whatever words you use.

Totally agree.

I’m disappointed Biden has fallen for all this nonsense.

Did he give way to pressure I wonder?

Galaxy Fri 18-Jun-21 22:28:42

To be fair our influence on Bidens health policy is probably minimal.

Witzend Fri 18-Jun-21 22:28:18

I can’t say I’m surprised, but it’s depressing to see a word that’s presumably been used ever since humans had language, become un-PC.
And since when is ‘birthing’ a word, anyway? You don’t ‘birth’ a baby, you give birth to it.
Although I know it’s used in the dumbed-down way a lot now.

MerylStreep Fri 18-Jun-21 22:25:05

We just have to keep fighting back every time we read/hear/ see this crap.

Offensive. It’s another means of erasing women. It also denigrates adoptive parents who adopt children - they haven’t given birth to them but they are the child’s mother/father. People can call themselves what they want but don’t include me, thank you very much.

Excellent point! It’s not really strange that these words are to benefit the male sex.
If they’re human and give birth, they’re female. What they call themselves is their business, but they shouldn’t try to interfere with the word ‘mothers’ -by birth or by adoption just because it doesn’t suit them.

Only women can give birth, fact.

Polarbear2 Fri 18-Jun-21 22:09:37

If they said "and" it would make such a difference.
Women "and" birthing people.
Who could object to that?

Good call ?
