In her initial message Sarnia was pointing out the Press should not be harrassing Hancocks wife and I totally agree it's very unfair.
I've been cheated on twice - OK not news for the Press but you still have to tell your family, friends and it's heartbreaking. Hopefully she will realise, like I did that they actually did me a favour - hindsight is a wonderful thing.
What I was surprised at was the number of bitchy comments from some other posts. I thought this platform was to share your opinions without judgement.
I'm not political in any way and only buy a local paper and a Sunday Paper (mainly for the mag and TV listings and used to take the puzzle pages for the staff room at work). I remember at work once someone mentioned the paper the quizzes were from - they were quite patronising and condescending and to be honest it annoyed me as I would never judge anyone. (By the way I'm not into Reality shows, magazines like Hello etc as have no interest in what "celebrities" get up to - but if others want to spend their money on them it's up to them so the same goes for some newspapers. )
I was a Chartered Librarian for 38 years and read a wide range of fiction including James Herbert. I remember my boss once criticising my choice - indicating I should be reading the Booker Prize list - no thank you. Why do some people think they have the right to judge what others do. When I was in a branch Library I had some lovely borrowers who liked Westerns and Mills and Boon - good for them, they were reading for enjoyment, as I do, and should not be looked down on for their choice.
