there's an interesting article in the Guardian today about the splits within the Tory party. Since becoming PM, Johnson has made many pledges on spending - social care, the NHS and rebuilding the north, to name but a few. To fulfill these pledges enormous amounts of money will be required. At the same time, many in the Tory Party are opposed to such spending because they are anti government and would prefer for the austerity measures of the past to continue.
