Well it had to be done, so I’m doing it. It’s in the news this morning that Prince Andrew is being sued in New York by Virginia Roberts for having underage sex with her when she was seventeen. Will there be a successful outcome for her?

Chewbacca Tue 10-Aug-21 14:19:22

I'm out. The accusations that money is the only propeller for a young woman seeking justice for being routinely sexually abused by men old enough to be her father and was trafficked by 2 people who promised her an expensive education if she did what they told her, is just nauseating. Can't stomach it. envy not envy

Timetogo can you explain what the law in this country has to do with it. He wasnt in this country.

timetogo2016 Tue 10-Aug-21 14:03:55

In this country she wasn`t underage.
There`s something iffy about this story tbh,why take so long to take him to court?.
The £ sign springs to mind.

?????it was only a matter of time, but probably meant as a joke.

*Woman sues man for sexual attack*.

Before any more comments are made, that attack has never been proved or disproved. It is her word against his, and his word against hers.
Prince Andrew has quite rightly been pilloried for keeping company with Epstein, but I believe Guiffre, influenced by the swarm of American lawyers around her is once again allowing herself to be used by powerful men for money. Epstein and his fortune is beyond her reach; she has already sued Maxwell, and I think she has lost control of the situation.

Not necessarily there may be witnesses who are willing to come forward unless they have been nobbled.

H1954 Tue 10-Aug-21 13:57:04

Is this woman a friend of Megan's by any chance?

Some people think Maxwell may already be dead/ is on hungerstrike/ has plea bargained. How many of us really think the trial will happen?

Supposed to be in November isn’t it? But I wouldn’t be surprised at any of your suggestions.

We can but hope that all involved are being held to account.
Not hounded; just required to give a truthful account of events.

Can you imagine, Windsor, Trump or Clinton or indeed any of the rich and powerful being hounded!!?

I think the whole debauched business just highlights how wrong it is to have anyone with a title

His title has nothing to do with what he's accused of. He is a man accused of being involved in the sexual molestation of a young girl that was procured for him by Epstein and Maxwell. He did that whilst being the father of 2 daughters of a similar age. My guess is that he would have done it whether he was a king, a banker or a dustman; his title just assisted him in covering his tracks a bit longer. There are far more "titled" people in the world, who have not been involved in sleazy behaviour, than you're alluding to.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 10-Aug-21 13:52:17

The FBI have repeatedly requested an interview with Windsor, but he has never responded in any way whatsoever.

If evidence comes out at the trial, and I have sincere doubts that Maxwell will spill those beans- then the ball game changes, but we shall have to wait and see.

Woman sues man for sexual attack.

Woman must have ulterior motive.

It wasn't a real crime

Woman wants money.

It wasn't just him.

Do you hear yourselves?

Quite. Anyone wanting to say that Andrew was entitled to have sex with a teenage girl as none the posh ladies were available and a man has his needs? Good luck with trying to get any money out of the Royals by the way. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Andrew happily mixed in Epstein’s circles and deserves all he gets.

Yes, to both of these posts.

I doubt we will see justice, though.

What I have found annoying is people saying that Andrew should be extradited to the US when the diplomat's wife is extradited over here. The two things are not related in any way. He should stand trial because he has been accused of a very serious crime - not because someone else appears to be evading justice.

Kamiso Tue 10-Aug-21 13:48:44

I haven’t seen much victim blaming but it’s fair to ask why her parents haven’t been prosecuted. Her dad accompanied her on a flight to the U.K. and hung around in London waiting for her. Surely that’s procurement?

Andrew offered to be interviewed in the U.K. but the USA insisted he had to return to America with their totally flawed justice system.

Andrew shouldn’t get away with any part he may have taken but it would be interesting to know if Epstein’s American cronies are being hounded in the same way.

Anniebach Tue 10-Aug-21 13:48:37

Yet she isn’t suing any others

Whitewavemark2 Tue 10-Aug-21 13:45:59

There are lots of names of powerful people including Trump, Clinton and many others. This will all come out at the trial.

Of course they won’t have a U.K. title but that is immaterial. Windsor’s title means nothing,

I doubt if anyone is feeling gleeful that a member of the Royal Family has been a good friend of Epstein and is now facing the consequences. Even a fervent Royalist must feel some disappointment in Andrew’s behaviour.

Absolutely, but the FBI could have come to the UK for an interview, but didn’t, the CJ D said he wasn’t a suspect. No one is above the law, says the American lawyer, very true, but not true in the case of Sacoolas, who has been deemed by America to be so. Let us not be judge and jury on this, most think he is guilty on say so, it needs to be proven. If guilty he should be punished. If she is found to be lying, then so should she.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 10-Aug-21 13:43:29

His family is immaterial just as other families of those seeking particular sex acts who spent time on Little St. James.

The island was used for debauched sex. Why would anyone want to spend time there if they were appalled and sickened by the activities going on?

No one would would they?

Anniebach Tue 10-Aug-21 13:43:11

Snoozikinzi interesting that the only person named has a title , perhaps all involved has a title

GillT57 Tue 10-Aug-21 13:38:56

Anniebach

I agree GillT57 , he should not be allowed to get away with any crime, his family like any family should not be dragged into the allegations.

I agree. It would be sad to see some using this unsavoury episode to have a kick at the Royal Family. They are not his keepers.

Soozikinzi Tue 10-Aug-21 13:37:05

I think the whole debauched business just highlights how wrong it is to have anyone with a title . Everyone should be equal and the whole system of titles setting one above another is completely out dated.
