Show your U.K. passport when leaving U.K. to U.K. authorities, then show your Irish passport to the French authorities. You don’t get stamps but it’s the quickest way.

I have two questions. Is there ‘duty free’ on the Eurostar for perfume and whiskey and if traveling by a French car from England to France, are new English goods taxed. English paint is so expensive here that I usually buy it in England.

It is often the small things that bring us joy. I would like stamps on my passport if I was travelling.

i really must dig my old passports out.
as a child i traveled extensively in euope and loved all the stamps, round one, oblong ones, red ones, black ones etc.
my favourite was one around 1972 when i was a teenager in berlin, of course the ddr no longer exists now, so a piece of history. i think they gave a bear stamp at check point charlie but it might not have been official.
i am sure i had a swiss bear stamp too.
the monaco one was very glam and red as you would expect. someone told me you can still get it stamped for a price at the tourist office.
so many travels to re live, so may memories to treasure, i am glad they are coming back in my passport.

We do, indeed, have to grab at straws; there should be some sort of award for finding one

Brits/UK citizens are already "officially European". We haven't floated out into the Atlantic, not literally anyhow ?

I think of myself as a citizen of Europe and wish I were still in the EU. Sadly I cannot claim any Irish or other heritage …

But well done Monica on finding an advantage! Bit pricey for some stamps though but someone will be along to point out the other myriad advantages (hoorah rule Britannia there’ll always be an England ?)
