Shows just how deeply toxic Johnson is, if true, because some of those living ex-pm's are pretty soiled goods themselves!

I read that the invitations were issued very late and that most had prior engagements.

However they may disagree with Johnson and his politics and perhaps with just cause, it really does show ill manners to decline the invitation unless they have good reason - which it sounds as if all but Mrs May have.
It isn't Boris's party as such, but to celebrate an historic event.

Seems rather a weak excuse for a dinner for former PMs - normally they only get together for something important e.g. visiting President, Queen, G20 etc.

I expect the decliners didn't want to be a photo opportunity for Bozzer and Carrie - not ill mannered at all.
