Some scientists have said that although climate change is happening, as we have had periods of heating and cooling over many centuries, they question just how much human behaviour influences it.
They may be right or they may be wrong, but it’s never discussed.
It is often discussed but perhaps you don't read the right journals? Surely the activities of humans in the last 150 - 200 years have played a major part in global warming (ie since the industrial revolutions). I don't think that there were many humanoids or fires prior to the last ice age.
In California they are wrapping a large sequoia known as General Sherman in aluminum foil in order to protect it from fire. This tree is estimated to be between 2300 and 2700 years old. Between August and December last year it is estimated that between 7,500 and 10,000 giant sequoias were destroyed in the fires.
Usually, when there are forest fires, the fire sweeps over fairly quickly and the trees recover. In recent years the fires have been too intense and too frequent to allow recovery.
The fires this year around the Med seem to have been worse than in previous years and the polar ice caps are melting faster than has previously been seen.
