The PM has said "big, bold decisions" are needed" and it would be interesting to hear what Conservative voters are hoping for.

I think that is quite posh

'A sprawling, 10-bedroom residence, it feels reassuringly lived-in and eclectically homespun. Hand-painted azulejo tiles depicting pomegranates and sunflowers line the bathrooms; there's a scrubbed-oak table set for 20 in the dining room and a card table in the well-stocked library ready for gin rummy. With two swimming pools (one heated year-round), a tennis court, games room and helipad, '

Johnson is being severely criticised by industry for skipping off on his 14th holiday rather than deal with the existential energy crises.

Some industries will have to close within the next week or so if Johnson does not step in and instruct the treasury to provide aid.

Italy is providing €18bn to its hard hit industries.

My pearls of wisdom are just my opinions MaizieD. I don’t claim to be an intellectual. Other opinions are available.

I love the 'card table in the well stocked library ready for gin rummy'.

Presumably reading the books is too intellectual for the guests... grin

“Spain have just announced energy bills will fall by 22%

• France announce £100 energy vouchers & a cut from 12% to 4% in electricity rise

“• Italy announce €3.5bn plan to protect poorer from energy rise

• Greece announce €108 pa vouchers

Meanwhile, UK does diddly-squat”

Hi all, we've removed a few posts from this thread that were well into 'personal attack' territory. Please do try to address the point and not the person. Hopefully things will get back on track now - but please do report any further upset and we'll drop by again.

Well. Blimey. Just came back on and lo and behold all hell has broken loose.
It’s now very hard to stop putting some French or Franglais in to this thread ??
Again I apologise if my French text thing upset anyone.
Allons move on un peu now ? ??

When I was young, I was geeky looking and clever. Maybe I still am wink

People used to call me a swot and make fun of me, so I learnt how to deal with it. My mum used to tell me it was because they were jealous of the things I had that they didn't, and so they needed to do me down. Might have been true, might not. They never managed to turn it around though, and make the teacher think that they were the ones being picked on.

Funny the things that pop into your head, isn't it?

Anyway, sorry to divert - back to the Tory Hunger Games.

Borisology - the new 'level'

''Like all cults, Borisology is detached from reality and destined to end badly

Andrew Rawnsley

In thrall to one capricious character with few deep beliefs, the Tories are abandoning once-cherished convictions and trashing traditional allies .
‘The prime minister’s speech was a breathless and jumbled hurtle through slogans, wordplay, boasts, metaphors and jokes, jokes and more jokes.

The Conservative & Unionist party is no more. It has ceased to be. It has expired and gone to meet its maker. It’s kicked the bucket, shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-party.

It has been replaced by the Boriservative & Johnsonist party. This is the conclusion I draw after observing the worshippers at the Borisfest in Manchester. It was all about him! ''
