it costs 25k a week, I think it is fair to ask who is paying for it hen there are multiple posts resenting paying for social care for vulnerable people!

But if it belongs to "a friend" who has loaned it no-one is paying, the friend has lost £25,000, if that is the cost. It might have stayed empty anyway if no-one had booked it this week.

As someone in another group pointed out Marbella is where all the crooks hide out so at least he's chosen the right place.

Isn’t it all about setting an example. And the country is in crisis. Some factories might have to (hopefully temporarily) close down in the near future because of the energy crisis. I assume it’s because of the energy one not one of the other ones. And this is on top of Raab being on holiday when the Taliban were taking over Afghanistan. Which he was (sort of) sacked over.

Leaving aside the timing and the questions over who paid for the holiday, I think it is deeply insensitive of people to keep going on about how the Johnsons 'need' a holiday, at a time when the government has cut £1040 a year from the already limited budgets of the poorest in society.

A family (which may well include people in work, or with a disabled parent or child) trying to get through the week on £20 less is very likely to need a holiday, but a clapped out caravan in Cleethorpes will be out of reach.

Johnson himself is obviously unable to read the room, or to give a flying frog about the fact that his policies have led to the crises that are making, or will come to make the lives of many families even more difficult, but that is no longer a surprise. Hearing his fan base condone this, and support his flagrant disregard for the feelings of those who are suffering is really worrying, though, as it highlights the gap between the 'haves' and 'have nots', and shows how little the latter care about the former.

Nobody 'needs' a holiday. Yes, there are times when any of us can really want one, but as my mother always said, wanting isn't needing.

Remembering the uproar over James Callaghan and "Crisis, what crisis?" Johnson seems to be getting off very lightly. Perhaps it is just that people feel he will do less harm if he's out of the country. And further to Geoffrey Robinson, he was tge chap who “loaned” Peter Mendelson £373,000 which Mandelson “omitted” to declare because he had “forgotten” all about it! Clearly peanuts to the likes of them.
It is disingenuous to target one political party and ignore equally dodgy dealings by the “other side”.
