All great, if you have private health insurance. But most of us can't afford it.
I'm with a great doc at the moment. But I no longer live in his catchment. I dread what is going to happen when he eventually finds out. The GP in my local area is awful. Run into the ground. It terrifies me.In Scotland you don't need to live in the catchment area. We stayed with our current GP surgery when we moved as they are excellent. Local ones rubbish.
The "catchment" areas are wider than you might think. I'm about to change my GP because I'm totally fed up with the one I have. I'm hoping that I won't end up with more of the same. I know that I probably won't be able to have home visits, but I've never had one in my life anyway.
