I am not an eager news consumer and tend to just listen to Radio Scotland for half an hour before getting up and reading the BBC website over breakfast. But I am finding the BBC more and more irritating. The headlines are becoming sensational and bear little relevance to the actual news. The spelling and grammar is not checked and links to more about a story send you round in circles . As for the search facility ….

I am beginning to think I may have to pay to read one of the more serious papers.

Where do you get your news from and do you believe everything?

We have a newspaper which we pay for. I watch a bit of bBC news and a bit of Sky news depending on which one is showing sport, when I change the channel.

At the risk of sounding like my own gran (born in 19th century), the BBC news, across radio, TV and website, is not what it was.

I read the Telegraph on my tablet, which has the added advantage that I don't have to get out of bed to collect the paper from the mat.
I agree about the BBC; doom laden doesn't begin to describe it.

News from the BBC TV has been chronic for several years now imo. I'm tempted to say since brexit but I feel it started to go down hill before that. I still listen to the radio most mornings. Other than that I flick through the other news channels including Sky and GB News. If we are home we watch the local evening news on the BBC. The presenters are ok and don't treat their viewers like idiots I still buy news papers at the weekend.

The BBC news is very left wing biased and I rarely watch it now although I do listen to the Today programme in the mornings. I read the Sky news on my phone and sometimes watch Sky New in the late evening. I don't buy a newspaper since Covid but I used to get the i.

That's odd, Not Too Old. My impression is that, far from being left wing, BBC News is scared to say anything that implies disapproval of the current government. The more authoritative news I prefer is Channel 4. You might not be surprised to learn that I read the Guardian on-line.

there are many other sources of news that you don't have to pay for, eg;

www.dailymail.co.uk/home/index.html
www.theguardian.com/uk
news.sky.com/uk
