Just watching him in Parliament. He’s now quoting Shakespeare……

Well yes- and I think Johnson and co will come to regret bitterly that they tried to stop this. It could have all quietly gone away. Now so many are linking many top names into this, Carrie who worked for Paterson- links to Dido Harding and the Racing world- and of course the obivous link to Johnson having at least 4 such enquiries against him. They set it all alight - and they did it themselves! Talk about own goal.

So, all this was about him having to be suspended for 30 days? Not forever, just a month? Or am I missing something here?

Yes, Paterson was allowed to vote. No prizes for guessing how he voted!

Just unbelievable!

Lucca Thu 04-Nov-21 16:58:59

He’s resigned now

Auto hone, should be cesspit

Barmeyoldbat Thu 04-Nov-21 16:55:24

And Johnson has 4 different investigations against him, another reason for this chesspit to change the rules

Paterson used to be Carrie Symonds boss (apologies if this has already been mentioned but I only just found out). It gets murkier and murkier.

I too have only found this out. Jockey club/Randox/Dido Harding/Carrie Simmonds.......what a cesspit.

Omg you couldnt make it up. We must be the laughing stock of Europe and the rest of the world.

MayBee70 Thu 04-Nov-21 11:58:18

That’s surreal….

MayBee70 Thu 04-Nov-21 11:28:33

Was Paterson himself allowed to vote?

silverlining48 Thu 04-Nov-21 11:14:50

Surprisingly the Daily Mail was damning according to report on the R4 Today programme.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 04-Nov-21 11:07:30

Yesterday Mogg was doing a lap of honour over Paterson, today a screeching U-turn.

That in a weird way makes the whole episode even worse.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 04-Nov-21 08:57:28

What also depresses me are those Tory supporters who are keeping quiet about everything.

Clearly they agree with the sewerage being dumped and corruption, or I assume they would have the backbone to say how wrong they think it all is.

The implication of silence is that they support it all.

What a grubby country.

Barmeyoldbat Thu 04-Nov-21 08:51:30

Well said Vito and I don’t believe for one minute that any party could be as bad or worse than this shameless lot.

TopsyIrene06 Thu 04-Nov-21 07:39:31

"the" emperor.

TopsyIrene06 Thu 04-Nov-21 07:38:50

Vito you hit the nail on the head.

I just wish I could see a time when it is acknowledged that emperor is definitely naked.

growstuff Thu 04-Nov-21 00:08:59

And do you know what? Enough people will be conned. Sleaze has become normalised. We'll just move on to the next mucky incident.

growstuff Thu 04-Nov-21 00:05:22

Kathryn Stone will be smeared, there will be waffle about "natural justice" and Rose Paterson's suicide will be mentioned.

MayBee70 Wed 03-Nov-21 23:44:12

Sky News have just said the story of the day is the missing child in Australia. Not knocking the fact that that it’s wonderful that she’s been found but it’ll be used to push the Paterson story off the headlines.

MayBee70 Wed 03-Nov-21 23:41:48

It’ll be interesting to see how this gets reported in tomorrow’s press.

growstuff Wed 03-Nov-21 22:37:58

Well said Vito. It's probably not much consolation, but you're not alone.

growstuff Wed 03-Nov-21 22:36:57

I agree with you GillT57. The government is only as bad as the people who voted for it. It really is depressing that so many people appear to have such low values.

MayBee70 Wed 03-Nov-21 22:06:48

To be fair to the government they always made it clear that they intended to make themselves above the law but people still voted for them. Probably one of the one things they’ve been honest about confused We live in strange times.
