Is it just me or is she increasingly coming across as a brat having a permanent tantrum.? She has no positive ideas, merely demands to stop doing just about everything while the media hangs on her every intemperate word? Blah blah blah…..

Calendargirl Sat 06-Nov-21 14:30:34

No, it’s not just you.

Smileless2012 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:31:53

No, it isn't just you tidyskatememum.

JaneJudge Sat 06-Nov-21 14:34:28

my husband would agree with you but I don't, if that helps grin

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:36:25

Well tidyskate I think it's a bit rich of these young folk who are still wet behind the ears to lecture the rest of us.

Our generation was practicing being green long before they were even born, only it went by a different name and it wasn't due to being left wing/right on.

Which generation chucks fast food wrappers on the pavement? Discards tents at music festivals? Is it us, the older generation? I don't think so, matey.

Get some experience of LIFE then come back and tell us about it.

Jaxjacky Sat 06-Nov-21 14:38:19

I think I love you tidyskatemum ??

grandMattie Sat 06-Nov-21 14:40:01

I’m so glad you say that. I find her dreadful, and a hypocrite to boot.. does she live in a cave, wear only fur and eat only stuff she’s hunted?

Kate1949 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:40:12

She's irritating (in my opinion).

Elless Sat 06-Nov-21 14:40:50

Well said lovebeigecardigans1955 totally agree

MaizieD Sat 06-Nov-21 14:41:06

I think it's our children and grandchildren that do that. Me, I blame the parents grin

Elless Sat 06-Nov-21 14:42:31

....... and we used to walk to school not get driven by our parents.

Alegrias1 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:42:35

Well Calendargirl and Smileless2012 beat me too it.

But in all honesty, its not just you. Lots of people who don't really grasp the situation really don't like being shown up by a teenager.

She is annoying. I like her smile

As for the "no positive ideas" nonsense, try googling the Greta Thunberg Foundation.

Alegrias1 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:44:48

All those recycling their yogurt pots and telling us what model citizens they are - have you donated €100,000 to anyone recently?

silverlining48 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:46:07

She is entitled to her opinions and is not to blame if other youngsters leave their tents and rubbish about the place.
i rather admire her for having the courage and determination to demonstrate entirely on her own at the age of 13 or 14.

Let’s not criticise a young girl/woman who has succeeded spectacularly in raising this important issue.

Nell8 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:49:06

I can't see the point of going on strike from school. Seems to me like shooting yourself in the foot. What would those children in poor countries think... the ones whose parents can't afford to give them a decent education? Can't the demonstrations just take place outside school hours?

Smileless2012 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:51:14

I do grasp the situationAlegrias and I certainly don't feel as if I'm being shown up be a teenager. If only I had that sort of money to donate, I would.

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 06-Nov-21 14:52:09

I’m so glad you asked that question! I wasn’t brave enough. My husband and I think she’s a real brat, always scowling and being so rude. My husband thinks she should try going to China to protest, the chances are that’s the last we would hear of her!?

GillT57 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:54:01

Well, I admire her, and I was cheered to see all those youngsters marching in Glasgow yesterday, all concerned for their future and for the environment.

JaneJudge Sat 06-Nov-21 14:54:10

There are loads of youngsters who don't litter for heavens sake and plenty of people of all ages that do. I should know, I live in the country angry

Alegrias1 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:56:22

Well anybody who says Greta is a pain in the a$$ and how she should shut up doesn't really understand the situation, by definition. Sorry.

Its not Greta's personal money. She's not independently wealthy, unlike some royal families I could mention who like to tell us what to do while they fly around in their helicopters or drive around in one of their eight Bentleys.

timetogo2016 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:57:06

I feel exactly the same tidyskatemum.
She is a smug opinionated spoilt brat, who reminds me of an aggressive cabbage patch doll.

JaneJudge Sat 06-Nov-21 14:57:47

She may come across as rude because she has a communication disorder confused has tolerance of other people's difficulties died on Gransnet?

Alegrias1 Sat 06-Nov-21 14:58:34

Just listen to yourselves.

The older generation. She has a point. hmm

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 06-Nov-21 14:59:15

I understand the situation perfectly well and don’t need to be lectured and patronised by a rude little brat who assumes we all have the mentality of a gnat.

Calistemon Sat 06-Nov-21 15:00:33

Smileless2012

But donate to what exactly?
