Of course the duchess of Cambridge flew there on the back of a pig but wasn't her dress nice
Good Morning Saturday 9th May 2026
How did you vote and why today
Is it just me or is she increasingly coming across as a brat having a permanent tantrum.? She has no positive ideas, merely demands to stop doing just about everything while the media hangs on her every intemperate word? Blah blah blah…..
Of course the duchess of Cambridge flew there on the back of a pig but wasn't her dress nice

Did they set off on their bikes months ago to get there no they had to fly?
www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/sep/19/devon-teenager-plans-cycle-to-glasgow-for-cop26-climate-summitWow, well done. One teenager among thousands though.
And the man who walked from Germany? And the group who walked from Spain?
There is a general assumption that all those people surrounding Greta are all hypocrites who all flew there and don't practice what they preach. Why do you think anybody flew there just to march with Greta? The march was full of Scots, and unlike, oh, I don't know....Queens, Duchesses and Prime Ministers, they didn't take a flight to get there.
Of course there is that young Polynesian woman who flew here, probably because it was too far to swim. She doesn't know how she's going to get home but she's here anyway. How anybody can try to denigrate these young people for trying to make a difference is beyond me.

That’s probably the most judgemental nasty post on this thread.
Really ? Including the delightful one about the cabbage patch doll?
It was indeed a very nasty and judgmental post. Many, I hope most, of us are careful to do all we as individuals possibly can BlueBelle and have been doing so for a long time, because we are intelligent people who care about the world we inhabit not as a result of Greta’s very rude ranting. I think the only disagreement on this thread has been about Greta’s way of addressing her audience.
And btw I am sure I am not the only one on here to object to being called an old biddy.
Agreed BlueBell

Well give me Greta over some of the nasty judgemental posts on here
If a few old biddys are ranting on here without any agreement what chance is there for the world !!!
The trouble is so many of you dont want to be in the wrong and to be told by a young girl that you are deficient is really grating on you Open you brains open you ears and get on with doing something, anything, every journey starts with one step as the saying goes
Agree with allegri, Holysox is talking non confrontational, passive (& dangerous) rubbish.
This is a good one:

I'll say this again - Her Majesty who thinks that the week after telling the world that we all need to work together to save the planet, flies from her big house in Windsor to her big house in Sandringham for the weekend?
I'll stick with Greta, thanks. Not really a royalist but am impressed with the service our Queen has given our world. She is in a unique position to comment and advise ... as she has done over the years. Wasn't she quoted as saying world leaders need to do something not say something, albeit 'accidentally'. This will have had more impact than anything a ranting teenager is saying that is really about getting attention and self promotion.
It’s really about getting attention and self promotion
Attention yes of course …the issues need attention! Self promotion? Do you really think that ? I beg to differ.
Did they set off on their bikes months ago to get there no they had to fly?

Personally, I think the more she rants the fewer people will take of notice her even if her cause is justified. Who has ever taken notice of teenagers?
She let herself and her worthy cause down yesterday singing crude songs in Glasgow.,did Sir David Attenborough join in the chorus?
Her actions also encouraged thousands of youngsters to travel across the world to join her in London and Glasgow, what carbon footprint have they left. Did they set off on their bikes months ago to get there no they had to fly?
Maybe it's time for Greta to calm down and not intensify what a lot percieve as her bratish teenage behaviour.
I don't think she meant me and you specifically Holysox. ??
Well not me, certainly.
From the same page:
Greta tells like it is. Clearly, bluntly, with passion. The reality of climate change. What the science is telling us and what our leaders are doing about it (or rather not doing.)

With all due respect Holysox, you are talking rubbish.
Right, moving on...I seem to remember you boasting about your work on renewable power. But you're happy for a slip of a girl talk down scold you, as part of our generation? Ironic really.
Ohh, good memory...
She's not scolding me, or you, she's scolding the governments. I said that before. Keep up.

If someone came on here and said that vaccines were going to kill us all and that the Queen was a lizard, would you let that stand without questioning it because the poster is non confrontational and passive?
Not well said, not well said at all.
I thought you were moving on

It’s a black and white message ( global warming) but unfortunately can’t be addressed by a black and white answer.
It can’t all be stopped right this minute.
That doesn’t mean that as much as can be done right now, shouldn’t be done.Is it black and white?
Some of the measurements used to prove 'global warming' are of very small changes over a very short time period, certainly in terms of planetary climate.
However, if we accept there is an increase then it leaves us with two questions:
1. Are we causing it?
NASA produced a report showing CO2 levels and global temperature tracking each other over the last million years, or so. But this doesn't show CO2 levels cause global warming ... could well be the other way around. Might be another reason for global warming.
2. Is it catastrophic?
A warmer planet with a CO2 enriched atmosphere may have significant benefits, such as greater food production. Half the world's population still live in abject poverty which I (and they) think this is a more pressing issue. Global warming could well be beneficial to them!
Don't get me wrong I am all for cleaner energy, less pollution, less waste. I would say our generation have spearheaded this and would encourage the next to do better. We don't need some ranting teenager to tell us off!
Yes...well said Holysox. Whether or not you’re’ talking rubbish’, at least you’ve managed to be non confrontational, and passive.

I don't agree that GT is self promoting. Yes, she's about getting attention, but she needs to do that to promote her message.
Although I don't agree with her on all issues, she's still right to stand up for what she believes in. She's just a bit too full on for my liking.
Sadly as evinced here, Greta Thunberg is extremely unlikeable to so many people, which is not helping her worthwhile cause. It has nothing do do with her sex, Professor Richard Dawkins has the same problem. Her condition obviously is playing a part in this.
It may sound superficial, but anger tempered with likeability would be more successful.
Well said, holysox.
With all due respect Holysox, you are talking rubbish.
