Don’t believe everything you read in the Daily Fail. I only read it online to get another view of the world. An extreme right wing, borderline racist, insidious view. Don’t forget they supported Fascism in the 1930s.

The Guardian supported slavery, many in the past can be associated with evil things. Doesn’t mean they support it now.

If you buy a paper that supports certain views NOW, it it most likely that you support those views NOW. Look at the headlines of the DM over the last few years, and see.

Because, pippa it is difficult to think that anyone would be non-judgmental enough to take on board a different point of view when they start a thread like that or pass comments like those later on in the thread. Simple really.

I understand what you are saying varian but I do think there is an end to the bonfire that was Brexit. Now and forever we will be dealing with the aftermath, I agree.

However the Brexiteers and, I would guess, those who identified as leavers will disappear into the pit of History while others, with better motives, pick up the pieces.

I am with fc I read what I fancy when I go to the store, be it the DM, the DE, and sometimes what is left on the shelf. I take most of it with a pinch of salt anyway but I enjoy reading.

Well it’s happened despite Covid, we’ve got to make it work.
More concerned at the moment about this Patterson debacle. It’s disgusting trying to change the rules after a crime has been committed, shameful. However Keir going off on one after his loose cannon Angela performance is a bit rich. They have had a lot to be ashamed of.

Actually Lincslass most of us do know the daily headlines from the papers, because every day there’s a feature on BBC news online showing them, and you can read the front page of all the main newspapers as well as a summary of them. It’s a good way of keeping up with the media view whether or not you read a specific newspaper.

I’m thinking that it could be that posters are assuming that the link which Callistemon posted included a load of, shall we say, unpopular, headlines or something.
It is actually a full archive, and looks like it come be a valuable tool for students say.

Spot on. My bloke reads those often to see the hilarious ones on the daily Sport or whatever.

How do you choose to hear about current affairs?
To be honest, I tend to only read the rubbishy show business, ‘women’s interest’ stuff in the DM
(shoot me now!)
But MrC reads it, and The Times, from cover to cover.
I tend to get my news-news from Radio 4 and LBC

FannyCornforth, I realise that many people read the 'news' merely for entertainment (or the crossword) and don't really want to know what's going on. Fair enough, I suppose, as UK newspapers are a joke, internationally, anyway.

Some people believe the tabloid content is true though - and that's a worry.

I try to avoid the cr*p, keep a weather eye on the (sadly lacking) BBC stuff and read the APnews.com online.
