Brexit is dead, it is no more, it has ceased to be - because it has happened. We have withdrawn from the European Union

I don't think it is true that Nobody votes for a party based on one policy only, but by after considering the full range of their policies M0nica. I wish it was. We are all aware that the last election was a "Brexit Election". It was boasted about by those who were leavers at that time.

There are also more than two parties to choose from. If you read my post you will see I talked about the candidate best placed to stop them [the current Tories] not a candidate of any particular party.

I believe that all the progressive parties want to "make Brexit work" by a closer alliance with the EU. If that is what a voter wants, rather than the Conservative divergence from the EU on all matters - laws, standards, trade, security, everything - then they have to look towards a progressive alliance.

We need the Labour party to commit to electoral reform.

Then the supporters of other non-Tory parties might get behind their candidates in constituencies where they are best placed to defeat the Tories.

They must also direct their supporters to vote LibDem or Green where they are the main challengers to the Tories.

Narrow blinkered party loyalty will never defeat the undemocratic First Past The Post electoral system which could keep the Tories in power on the basis of a minority vote forever and a day.

There are also more than two parties to choose from and how about those who cannot bring themselves to vote for any of the available parties but could dislike one party enough to vote for another they do not like, just to keep them out?

The next bit will be how you vote in the next election. We will have two choices on the ballot paper - however many names are there. You can vote for the Conservative continuity of anti-democratic, anti-Europe government or the candidate best placed to stop them and who offer, as Labour has already stated, that they would seek a "closer alliance with the EU".

If you do not vote for that best-placed candidate, you will be voting for a move further away from our European neighbours and further away from democracy.
