Johnson’s lack of respect

To turn up looking like a tramp is showing clear disrespect to all the fallen.

It is funny or clever, it is a disgrace.

But let’s not make stuff up about him, or anyone else.

Who is making stuff up? It's true. Johnson 'would' be the one to send the military to war.

All the stuff about Blair and Cameron is irrelevant

maddyone Mon 15-Nov-21 11:02:37

I have no problem with posters describing Johnson as scruffy. He is scruffy, and often looks like he’s been pulled through a hedge backwards. It’s not a good look for the Prime Minister of the UK.
But let’s not make stuff up about him, or anyone else.

Well said, maddyone

Ask any military officer. Johnson is the one who would send the young men they lead to their death or severe injury.

See what they think of Johnson’s appearance.

The word is ‘would.’
To my knowledge, correct me if I’m wrong, Johnson has never sent any young men to war. Blair sent young men to to war, and many never returned. Others were hideously maimed. Cameron sent air support/attacks into Syria. He was unwilling to send ground forces in because of the backlash against Blair with his wars.

Re the ‘black tie is traditionally worn at the Cenotaph’ the pictures shown by other posters show this is clearly is not the position. Let’s stick to the facts shall we?

Just to say, I think Johnson almost always, if not always, looks a complete mess. That’s an opinion. Saying black tie is always worn at the Cenotaph is also an opinion, because it’s clearly not a fact. The fact is that black tie at the Cenotaph is a choice that some people make, others choose blue.

Funny that those don't approve of 'bashing' scruffy Boris were probably fully in support of bashing scruffy Jeremy Corbyn for his attire at the same even.

Like for like. Good for one, good for all.

? yes I can well remember so many posters on here.

The new Michael Foot/Neil Kinnock.
Maybe his hair dresser taylors his suits.

Sorry that’s been said already

^Boris does not have such a body^

Indeed. I bet he wished he did.

How many of us wish we looked like someone else?

He does look untidy, but as others have said, I think he is just one of those people who cannot look smart no matter what.

I’m sure Boris is perfectly aware that he looks overweight, round shouldered, short, beside others. Angela Merkel also looks dumpy and short, although not untidy.

No one mentions her.

Well she might look dumpy but not a complete mess !

There must be an explanation somewhere about not always wearing black ties. John Major as PM wore blue in 1996. Tony Blair grey. Not black ones?

No explanation just another excuse to bash the current PM

I am not a fan of the PM or the way the country is being run at the moment however, his attire is the least of my concerns.

Yes, GG13, it's a shame that we can't just sometimes see some good in people instead of always focusing on the bad. I do try to.

True Casdon. Whereas Boris has the Benny Hill tucked in chin, belly out posture. Carrie is a lucky girl!

Casdon Mon 15-Nov-21 09:37:03

Surely no one mentions Angela Merkel because she always looks very smart. She is perhaps proof that an awkward body shape doesn’t mean you can’t - however her deportment is good.

At the Cenotaph Black tie has always been worn. What makes him think that the rules can be broken? No respect.

Strangely John Major and David Cameron were also not wearing black ties, but blue?

Yes I noticed that which is what prompted my remark.

Johnson as leader of the government will of course set the standard.

That is why he will be criticised.

Poor show.

Josianne Mon 15-Nov-21 09:08:12

Angela Merkel? Her appearance is faultless, but I do wonder how many of those coloured jackets she has in her wardrobe? Has she ever worn a skirt?

My remark was meant to be tongue in cheek about Carrie. Of course it’s not her fault. At least he had a suit on and not a string vest - in sight anyway.

Messrs Cameron, Major wore blue ties along with the PM.

Obviously it’s only the PM that gets a bashing

Carrie you need to sort your man out.

A grown man doesn’t need a woman to dress him

None of it is her fault

Yet time and time again, “you’re not going out in that” I’ll buy him this it’ll make him look smarter. You’re not having those trainers, oh yes, women do try and dress their men. Some women treat their men like children, as if they have no minds of their own.

Josianne Sun 14-Nov-21 23:15:03

Talking of Macron and his impeccable taste, did you know he has changed the colour on the Tricolore flag to navy blue because he thinks it is more elegant? Also because the darker blue resembles the flag around 1793 and the time of the French revolution.
What I want to know is whether the French rugby and football teams will have to change the colour of their kit to look more elegant too?
