Utterley sick. To know that many people were kept from seeing their loved ones for the very last time, not allowed to attend their funeral, missed seeing their babies being born. the list is endless. My thoughts? I am beginning to think 'they' have always known this virus was never as dangerous as they told us it was. Hence, they have kept doing whatever they like. They knew there was no real fear, certainly to healthy people.

Unfortunately, healthy young people were hospitalised with severe complications from the virus - too many of them. And I think the government understood that if the disease was allowed to run rampant (herd immunity), that number would only increase, overwhelming the NHS.
I don't want to side track this discussion and make it about the virus itself, but the fact is that sometimes, it's the individual's own reaction to it that causes the problems. Which is why you can get a a situation where an elderly person in poor health survives the virus whilst a young healthy person with no underlying condition, dies from it.
