Hopefully some leadership on display.

Unwashed? Hahahaha. ?
Unkempt I’ll give you that JaneJudge but unwashed? ???

Urmstongran Mon 13-Dec-21 19:26:56

It just seemed inappropriate at a time of national anxiety.

JaneJudge Mon 13-Dec-21 19:26:05

Poor Boris on the other hand. The unwashed, overweight, alcoholic privileged idiot who made a choice to have two babies in his 50s with his much younger wife during a pandemic.

I see the queue outside my community food bank on a Sunday during any month but yesterday was horrific. I have no sympathy for the likes of our club penguin Prime Minister

MissAdventure Mon 13-Dec-21 19:24:35

I think that was exactly what it meant to convey.
Others may let you down, but we wouldn't, is the message I got.

JaneJudge Mon 13-Dec-21 19:21:50

I thought Kier was being the grown up in comparison to what we had to watch last night.

Alegrias1 Mon 13-Dec-21 19:21:38

I thought the references to us doing our duty were appropriate.

Casdon Mon 13-Dec-21 19:21:30

Nice to see you able to show you have an open mind Shropshirelass.

Shropshirelass Mon 13-Dec-21 19:13:02

I am afaraid he couldn’t lead sheep, oh sorry, he does! I cannot stand him, he is patronising and condescending, God help us if he got in.

Kim19 Mon 13-Dec-21 19:12:53

Pretty flat, awful and uninspiring in my opinion.

Urmstongran Mon 13-Dec-21 19:10:00

Oh Gawd! ....... “And from my family to yours, I wish you all a Happy Christmas”. What a cringeworthy end to this platform. Is he auditioning for greater things? We both laughed anyway.
? ? ?

some of you must have awful taste in men if you think boris has charisma and kier starmer has none!

YES

I don't think Johnson's appeal is so much charisma, more that he's 'bullish', and people seem to like his assertive style.

Personally, I prefer a bit more gravitas, and Starmer has that, but there is something lacking in his 'style'.

Because of our single-party system, we seem to place so much emphasis on a party leader, but it's difficult to be all things to all men, so to speak.

It is a shame that Starmer is a bit "grey" and boring though. People seem to prefer more light-hearted tones in these troubled time, even if the words are lies.

I'd settle for some competence and clear thinking. I don't really care how grey the person delivering it is. I think we've had more than enough of asinine 'lightheartedness'.

Ramblingrose22 Mon 13-Dec-21 17:01:42

There are lots of things I could say about Maggie and "charisma" isn't one of them!

She had, IMHO, the most boring monotonous voice with that forced posh accent to cover up her Lincolnshire origins.

But perhaps charisma is not desirable in politicians and leaders. After all some would say Hitler had charisma!

Alegrias1 Loyd George had the advantage of being Welsh

Love that anniebach.

(My father told me because he knew him ?)

paddyann54 Mon 13-Dec-21 16:33:33

maggie the most hated woman in Scotland, even now .She decimated our industry and left whole communities without hope .Humane she certainly wasn't and we all fervently pray there wont be another like her.Maybe she is one of the reasons tories in Scotland are polling on 1% and Labour a mere 6% because they are tories in red rosettes .

Mamie Mon 13-Dec-21 16:32:00

Clement Attlee didn't have much charisma. He was still the best Prime Minister the UK ever had, in my opinion.

Kali2 Mon 13-Dec-21 16:24:08

minus the humanity though- that was seriously lacking!

Since when did party leaders have to have charisma? The last two with that have had it have been Blair and Johnson and that didn’t go well, did it?

Exactly- we have had enough 'charisma' to last for a lifetime!!! Trump and Johnson ...

for the umpteenth time - give me intelligence, calm, experience, a great education, humanity, honesty, quiet but determined passion- every time!

Accurate description of Maggie.

Margaret Thatcher had charisma.
Like or loathe her, she had a very strong persona.
