Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie have revealed the name of their second child as Romy Iris Charlotte Johnson.

Sparklefizz Thu 16-Dec-21 14:09:52

Ooh, that's different. Lovely names.

EllanVannin Thu 16-Dec-21 14:09:59

Well that's acceptable, in fact very nice.

Urmstongran Thu 16-Dec-21 14:15:33

Sweet photo.

Sparklefizz Thu 16-Dec-21 14:18:53

Yes, what a sweet photo. The baby has dark hair so may not have Boris's mop.

Atqui Thu 16-Dec-21 14:22:55

Unlike her brother - so cute

Grannybags Thu 16-Dec-21 14:29:20

That's unusual. Love the photo

Grandma70s Thu 16-Dec-21 14:32:09

My elder son was born with dark hair, which disappeared after a while and was replaced with hair as blond as Boris’s. This isn’t unusual.

I like the names, and it is a lovely photo. I am no fan of Boris, but a baby’s a baby.

That’s a mean thing to say - poor little Wilfred!

Atqui

Unlike her brother - so cute

Very mean and uncalled for.

Grammaretto Thu 16-Dec-21 14:50:20

I think Atqui just meant the hair was different- no?
My gt nephew is 2 weeks older than Romy and still has no name.
Those names are popular hereabouts .
It always surprises me when I am told a baby's name and think it different, turns out it isn't.

Kamiso Thu 16-Dec-21 14:52:01

Unusual choices. Iris is sweet and old fashioned enough to be popular again.

lemongrove Thu 16-Dec-21 15:33:32

It’s alright ( just) but I prefer the other two names to the first one. Most children seem to be given strange names now though, and I bet she will start school with a class full of even stranger names....?

sodapop Thu 16-Dec-21 15:37:08

Lovely pic and like the names, Romy is different but not too unusual

Calendargirl Thu 16-Dec-21 15:38:15

She looks a lovely baby.

Casdon Thu 16-Dec-21 15:41:14

I like the names, but they should have put the second two the other way round. I hope she doesn’t marry a Shaw, because her name will be RIC Shaw if she does.

ElaineI Thu 16-Dec-21 16:34:39

Nice names and lovely photos.

Kali2 Thu 16-Dec-21 16:36:03

LOL, what is this definitely 'news' - really?

Calistemon Thu 16-Dec-21 16:36:38

She looks lovely and I hope Wilfred is pleased with her ?

Mine all had dark hair at first at first but then their hair grew through as red and blond(e).

Josianne Thu 16-Dec-21 16:37:37

Pretty names. I was close on two of the choices!

TerriBull Thu 16-Dec-21 16:39:03

Love the name Romy, quite unusual, Iris is on trend at the moment and Charlotte is classic On the other hand, I know it's popular but I really don't like the name Wilfrid at all.

Calistemon Thu 16-Dec-21 16:48:01

Charlotte was her Grandmother's name, who sadly never got to meet her latest grandchild.

Grandma70s Thu 16-Dec-21 16:51:27

My grandson, now nearly 13, was at infant school with an Iris. I like it.

TillyTrotter Thu 16-Dec-21 16:53:03

The little baby’s names are lovely.
Her hair colour may change. As Boris, his dad Stanley and little Wilf all have the full head of blonde hair it could be dominant. Carrie is blonde too (I think it’s natural - please correct me if I’m mistaken?)

LilacChaser Thu 16-Dec-21 16:55:20

Romy's a lovely name, though my daughter's furious. She was going to call her daughter (due in April) Romana!
