Anyone else excited? ?
I bet that Angela Rayner couldn’t sleep last night!

I assume that she’ll be doing it as Starmer is self isolating (for the sixth time, no less).

Apparently, Johnson is making a statement before PMQs, which is highly unusual.

The big problem for me is who will replace him. Recently it has been obvious that many cabinet members are distancing themselves from Johnson, but they are all tainted by association, and all supported the corruption and lies - otherwise they would have spoken out just as many now ex-Tories did.

I can’t see why the country should be saddled with yet another supporter of lies and corruption.

Riverwalk

The Met Police will need to investigate themselves also - they provide 24/7 security at Downing Street- they must have seen what was going on, regular gatherings in the gardens with wine, can't all have been business lunches.

Meanwhile they were watching people with drones, questioning small groups in parks, and moving people on when sitting on a bench.

I remember two young women in Derbyshire being arrested for going for a walk together while drinking take away coffee.
I can’t remember which rule they were supposed to have broken.
I think it might have been travelling too far from home.

Here

Grrr

Grannynannywanny Wed 12-Jan-22 07:44:37

I seem to remember the police were very vigilant back then. They issued warnings and in some cases fines to folk walking in pairs in parks carrying coffee cups as “picnics” were against the rules. Yet it seems in a place of heightened security it escaped their notice that 40 people arrived in the no. 10 garden carrying bottles of wine.

Crossed posts Lucca !

Great work! Thanks Lucca
A picnic! ?

I wanted to have the day off to watch it. Should I record it or get it on catch up? I'm worried they'll take it off catch up....

Whitewavemark2 Wed 12-Jan-22 08:02:53

I bet it is a damp squid. So many things like this are.

JaneJudge Wed 12-Jan-22 08:03:05

Aswell as the two women, wasn't there also another woman dragged off a beach (Brighton maybe?) by police?

I was stopped in the car by the police on the way to pick up my daughter to bring her home but I'd been advised to take paperwork so they just let me go. Her carers were being stopped on the way to work! Weren't we all good? sad the roads were silent for months

…or even squib ! Sorry wwm.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 12-Jan-22 08:06:35

Yes I did wonder as I wrote it if it was right. I bet I forget next time though.?

What a complete mess our country is in - a liar and law-breaking PM and an ineffectual Police force. As Alistair Campbell has just said on Sky News, Downing Street has probably the most CCTV cameras of any building in the country; it is also constantly guarded by Police, yet no action was taken by the Police when that party took place. How embarrassing - it will be interesting to see how they try to wriggle out of this without admitting any wrong doing or appearing to be duplicitous.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 12-Jan-22 08:06:52

What’s a squib?

What’s a squib?

A firework, I think ?
A damp one won’t do the business

sodapop Wed 12-Jan-22 08:12:43

I think it's a type of firework Whitewavemark2 quite apt really.

Angela Rayner has just said that Starmer attending PMQT today is reliant on him having a negative Covid test this morning.

Bugger.

Mind you I think the most serious charge of all, of misleading parliament by the Prime Minister has been identified by Starmer before Christmas.

He warned Johnson at PMQs

My bet is on Rishi Sunak

Yesterday James OBrien had a competition for the best party saying. Here are some:

‘More parties than Tupperware / Ann Summers’

‘More house parties than Noel Edmunds’

‘More parties than Nigel Farage has started’ smile

AGAA4 Wed 12-Jan-22 08:27:30

Keir Starmer has tested negative so will be at PMQ today.

JaneJudge Wed 12-Jan-22 08:28:43

oh deary deary me. I set to record!

Grannynannywanny Wed 12-Jan-22 08:29:21

It wouldn’t surprise me if Johnson suddenly produces a positive test this morning.
