Anyone else excited? ?
I bet that Angela Rayner couldn’t sleep last night!

I assume that she’ll be doing it as Starmer is self isolating (for the sixth time, no less).

Apparently, Johnson is making a statement before PMQs, which is highly unusual.

I was only repeating things I had read on Twitter, remarking on his miraculous recovery, so marvellous that we now know he was able to pop out into the garden for a drink within a month or so of being gravely ill, very unlike the reports of other people's recovery from covid19 that's for sure. The problem is that he has lost credibility, that's what happens to liars; nobody believes them when they tell the truth.

It is impossible to doubt his recovery and illness which you are doing, without doubting his hospitalisation and those who nursed him.

As your mate Johnson would say "I refer to my previous answer". Now lay off the silly twisting of what I posted, all I did was report what I read on twitter. Move on

FannyCornforth Thu 13-Jan-22 16:39:09

GrannyGravy which is why I expect some posters are commenting about his nurses being elsewhere (as I have previously said, I don’t know anything about this, but I am curious)

Sorry to hear about your husband too Calistemon
Some of you have really had some scary times recently.
It puts all our other niggles into perspective doesn’t it?

Urmstongran Thu 13-Jan-22 16:43:11

I was talking about what I read on Twitter
Says it all Gill57

Calistemon Thu 13-Jan-22 16:43:34

Good try GilT57 unfortunately Mr.Johnson is not my mate I am one of the politically homeless

I have not twisted anything, just commenting on posts on a public forum.

As for telling me to move on

Of course I believe NHS staff, what a silly thing to say. I was talking about what I read on Twitter and saying that due to his habitual lies, many people, myself included, have problems believing anything Johnson says. Please desist from twisting what I said and turning it into an anti NHS post, nothing could be further from what I said or believe.

That’s what the government have repeatedly done throughout the pandemic. Accused anyone criticising the government of criticising the NHS. I’ve lost count of how many times that has happened in parliament.

If you scroll Twitter for long enough you can find every crackpot going along with their conspiracy theories…

Urmstongran Thu 13-Jan-22 17:05:12

Which is why, after I joined it in the very early days, I deleted my account GG13. It’s not garnered the moniker ‘toxic Twitter’ for nothing!

What no fridge?

Just saw on Sky News that Mr Johnson has to isolate after a member of his close family has tested positive and had to cancel all public appearances (how convenient!).

I don't understand why he isn't working today?
I have someone with suspected covid in my house and have had to go to work and if it was confirmed I'd still have had to go work. You have to go in if you are vaccinated. Does he not understand the rules his own government has set?

Why is he making his own rules up? angry

See guidance below

6. If you live in the same household as someone with COVID-19
Follow separate guidance if you have had contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 but do not currently live in the same household as them.

Anyone who has any of the main symptoms of COVID-19 should stay at home, self-isolate immediately and order a PCR test unless they have already taken an LFD test and the result was positive.

If you do not have symptoms of COVID-19 and live in the same household as someone with COVID-19, you are legally required to self-isolate unless you meet any of the following conditions:

you are fully vaccinated – fully vaccinated means you have had 2 doses of an approved vaccine such as Pfizer BioNTech, AstraZeneca or Spikevax (formerly Moderna); you are also fully vaccinated if you have had one dose of the single-dose Janssen vaccine
you are aged under 18 years
you have taken part in or are currently part of an approved COVID-19 vaccine trial
you are not able to get vaccinated for medical reasons
If you meet any of these 4 conditions (and are therefore not legally required to self-isolate), follow the guidance further down for contacts who are not legally required to self-isolate.

The government keep Johnson out of the way as much as possible. That’s why he does these little jolly outings to vaccination centres each day and only allows one interview to be circulated amongst all of the channels. And refuses to do interviews or take part in televised discussions. The Conservative party have seen him as a liability for a long time. It’s a disgrace that he has been inflicted on this country at a time when we needed someone with a bit of gravitas. Ok, I know the electorate voted for him but did they realise what a liar he was at the time?

Oh I agree that, like all SM, Twitter has its share of weird opinions but it is used by a lot of very credible people, journalists, MPs, lawyers, many of whom are worth reading. It is good for access to a variety of views.
