'I've lost all confidence with the lot of them ! All they're doing is thoroughly enjoying themselves mudslinging while the country's going to rack and ruin.' so true

this country is in dire straits, these old Etonians have no idea of the pain and suffering they are inflicting on those with not much money.

I'm sure Boris has been sitting with a big red pen and that report saying 'that's wrong, that's not right ....' then SG has to go and change it. what else can she do since he's her boss?

I want a Labour gov't I want my public services fully funded, there were 8 ambulances queuing up outside Glos hospital yesterday no doubt cos they had to wait for space.

I don't care who leads Labour, they are all in favour of public services, I just want to feel safe in my country (and incidentally, to have people of different nationalities around me, I love that).

I agree. Maybe policy instead of personality will come to the fore but in reality, I doubt it.

Yes I watched it and I thought labour act as school kids with all their little remarks not very professional in my opinion and as for bury Mp he’s disgusting ppl vote for him because he was conservatives not labour. I also think Boris as worked his socks off and too many ppl are quick to judge must be nice being perfect that’s all I can say

As someone said on the fiona Bruce question programme Sue Gray is a civil servant. However respectable and decent she is it still remains that she works for Boris. So you do something wrong in your work and then set up someone in a lower position of power to write a report on it!! You couldnt make it up could you? One of the greatest long lasting programmes I loved was on in the 70's I believe but you could be watching it now and it would be totally up to date ,was the great Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. Watching Paul Eddington as the PM and the wonderful Nigel Davenport as the marvellous Sir Humphrey , You could put it on now and it would resonate today and not be dated at all. But that made you laugh or smile and recognise the politcal intrigues, not want to blow a gasket. If you get the chance to watch them it would cheer your day up.

madeleine45 Thu 20-Jan-22 11:53:01

Oh Spitting Image where are you now?

Urmstongran Thu 20-Jan-22 12:02:33

Sue Grey is highly regarded. She has her own reputation to uphold. I for one don’t think she will duck and dive. Cummings has intimated he has more to spill. Apparently Sue Gray is interviewing him today (good) hence the delay in the report coming out - next week now.

bobbydog24 Thu 20-Jan-22 12:03:34

God help us is all I can say.

Urmstongran Thu 20-Jan-22 12:11:33

Re the Bury South MP who crossed the floor yesterday. Did their constituents vote Labour? No, they voted Conservative, how dare he presume those voters agree with this desertion.

Hmm. Not principled enough to stand down then and prompt a by-election. Lightweight.

grannygranby Thu 20-Jan-22 12:16:44

If anyone should ever have been told to go it was that smirking embarrassing David Davis who wasted so much time over Brexit - never preparing always grinning...makes me feel supportive of Boris in an enemys enemy kind of way. ugghh

One of his “we are world beating” claims said “cost of living is coming down” - this on a day when we have the highest inflation for 30 years - this was therefore a blatant lie.

Either a blatant lie or proof he has little idea of what’s really happening. Not good either way.

- I agree. We live in the neighbouring constituency to Bury South and also voted in a new Tory MP at the last election. I hope ours doesn’t defect to Labour. ?

Not sure about that one he is a bit like a stuck record a bit of a waste of questions

Nobody needs to be perfect to understand that Johnson most definitely has not worked his socks off for the good of the country.

I live in Bury South. I'm spitting feathers about what he has done. I voted Tory, not Labour.

spabbygirl well said. I agree totally.

Given Sue Gray has a history in 'managing' information to avoid public scrutiny. ( Examples: the inquiry into infected blood and requests under the freedom of information legislation (FOI) on the Grenfell Tower fire). In particular she has been criticised for suppressing emails. In 2015, Chris Cook, then the policy editor for BBC Newsnight, wrote: “I know of half-a-dozen occasions where Ms Gray has intervened to tell departments to fight disclosures under the Freedom of Information Act.” She does not believe in open and full disclosure to the public. No wonder Johnson is looking happy - he knows he lives lie another day!

Urmstongran Thu 20-Jan-22 12:41:31

Shelmiss and TiggyW I can quite understand.
Spineless git.

JenniferEccles Thu 20-Jan-22 12:43:06

Exactly Urms
That was my immediate thought as well.
I believe it was said that the seat had been Labour for yonks until the last GE.

The man clearly has no regard whatsoever for the people of Bury who voted Conservative.

Interestingly his defection might have backfired as it’s said that his actions have resulted in Tory MPs rallying round the PM.

No comments on the Tory MP crossing over to Labour? Seeing some earlier clips he didn't sound as though he would leave the Tories any time soon so he must have been very rattled by the comments of his constituents.

Yes, and let’s not forget if he stayed with the Tory Party he may well have lost his seat in May elections. Self preservation maybe?

No. It takes a lot of courage to do what he has done. It isn’t something that anyone does without thinking long and hard about it. A friend of mine, a Tory councillor, left the Conservative Party and joined the LibDems because he could no longer stomach their policies and he suffered a great deal of abuse, which he knew would happen.

Courage? I am absolutely livid about what Christian Wakeford’s done. I was one of the people in Bury South who voted for him, therefore I voted for the Tories, not Labour.

Not many are happy about what he’s done in Bury South I can tell you!

So it’s all on you then, and your fellow voters!

Bury south? Do you enjoy benefits being frozen low level civil service clerks' pay being frozen yet again, tax cuts for the wealthy NHS being privatised by being starved of funding? You do suprise me, Manchester being the seat of workers and women's rights fought for in blood sweat and tears and vehemently opposed by conservatives both historically and contemporaneously!

Your constituency is likely to lose whatever extra funding, if any it received from Sunak last March. 39 out of the 45 constituencies selected were Tory. Yet more bribery.

Mummer Thu 20-Jan-22 12:47:45

Just a quickie did anyone else hear how conservative front bencher called Angela Rayner "she" instead of "the honourable member" as is the proper address? Says it all ,

vegansrock Thu 20-Jan-22 12:50:33

Surely the government of the day should be doing their best for ALL the country not just the constituencies that voted for them?

Mummer Thu 20-Jan-22 12:52:59

All the hyacinths crawling out of the woodwork I see! Wannabe upper crusts! Ha ha! I turned my back on all their rubbish when I found out about the mahoosive tax dodge worked by my dyed in the wool BLUE parents that enabled my private education and privileged youf! Made me sick to my stomach
