God almighty Tories are standing up moaning about the state of our rivers.
Who has allowed the water companies to release more s…t into the rivers.
I despair
Just un be lie va ble!!!
Shall we have another PMQs thread?
What’s on the cards?
I’m not as politically astute as most of you lot, but I do like to hear your thoughts (and start a thread
)
JOB has just started an hour on ‘What is The Worst Thing That Johnson Has Done’…

Starmer asked the right questions. Johnson didn’t answer a single one.
Not a single one ... and espee is so so right.
There wasn’t a single question during the whole of PMQ from either Labour or the SNP about what is going on with Russia and the Ukraine. Very worrying that they appear to be completely ignorant of what is going on the World.
I would have thought it a waste of time directing questions to someone whose days are numbered Gwyneth.
There will be families who have sons and daughters in the armed forces who will want to know about the UKs involvement and whether or not there is a likelihood of more British troops being sent to the Ukraine. Some of these families are constituents of those Labour and SNP MPs. I found it astounding that the Labour leader didn’t ask the PM one question relating to this issue.

I haven’t seen PMQ’s as I have only just got home.
Reading this thread I just cannot believe that partygate is perceived as more important than the threat of war in Europe.
Time to park partygate until all the investigations have been completed and get on with the day-to-day governance of the U.K.
P.S. If/when found guilty I think the PM should resign as the buck stops with the boss.
Esspee yes his days may well be numbered but he is still currently the Prime Minister and for opposition parties to not even ask a question re the Russia/Ukraine situation is a dereliction of duty as an MP. As Grannygravy13 as said so well ‘I cannot believe that partygate is perceived as more important than the threat of war in Europe’.

Debate on Ukraine in the House of Commons yesterday
Lots of input from the opposition parties

How naive to think that PMQs is the place for this sort of discussion
How naive to think that PMQs is the place for this sort of discussion
I have always been under the impression that PMQs is for the important issues relevant to the UK
Carry on with partygate and let the bigger issues fall by the wayside..
If that is the case , Granny gravy then someone =should tell the ~Tory mps who often waste questions by asking if the PM will agree with them about some parochial matter.
At the very least it warrants a question from the main opposition party. This is a situation that concerns many people. All Starmer’s questions related to ‘partygate’. Not only does he seem totally unaware of the possibility of a war but neither could he press the PM on fuel rises etc. Definitely a case of Nero (allegedly) ‘fiddling while Rome burns’. Although I’m guessing we won’t be doing much burning, at least when fuel rises hit. Starmer is a lawyer and probably a good one and clearly won’t give up until he gets his guilty verdict. But the mark of a good leader is to be able to look at the wider picture of what is going on in this country. The issues that are affecting people on a day to day basis. He has failed to do this and is obsessed with one thing only the resignation of the PM.
It must be galling to ask questions of someone who deliberately doesn't answer them.I don't think I have ever heard Johnson give a straightforward answer to a direct question, Now this has spread to his minions ., and he thinks it's funny. I~ really have had enough of him . There are some good back benchers who have more integrity than this amoral timewaster.
Now I know I'm biased, but...
...is it only me that thinks Johnson's comments to Blackford about eating cake were just a tiny bit offensive and childish?
But Starmer didn’t ask him any questions about anything other than ‘partygate’!!! As has been said repeatedly they are awaiting the investigation by Sue Gray. He can’t say any more until her report is published.
Regarding the debate you mention MaizieD most working people unfortunately haven’t got the time to research every debate that takes place in the Commons that is why like me they rely on reading a summary on the BBC. I would expect to read some mention of the Russia/Ukraine situation in the report on PMQ.

Lol I think he will survive he was the first one to mention cake and I don’t really think Blackford is that delicate he can certainly dish it out
There are multiple debates during the parliamentary day which discuss the important matters of the day, matters which I agree, are very important such as the Ukraine and Russia crisis. However, PMQs which is a bear pit of cat calls and point scoring is not the place for such serious matters. It is however, very serious, and should concern more people, that they are being governed by a liar and a pack of hyenas who laugh in his support. Frankly, nothing else matters if you have a liar in charge. He just doesn't answer any questions, when pressed by the Labour backbencher about Sunak's casual loss of £4.3bn++ of tax payers money, Johnson yet again repeated his set phrases about record breaking vaccine rollout etc. As for his jovial banter with the Tory backbencher discussing pollution levels and responsibility in the river Wye, it was beyond belief. I only saw a bit as I was out in the afternoon, I shall watch the rest later, with a fortifying glass of wine.
Yes Alegrias, Johnson's remarks and fat shaming of Ian Blackford belong
in the playground as did his appalling behaviour last week, rolling his eyes and looking repeatedly at his watch as Blackford was talking about the number who died from covid in this country.
Johnson also doesn't get his facts right ;
the economy is not the fastest growing in Europe, the vaccine rollout is better in Portugal. Malta and Spain.
He never answers questions about the energy crisis , I suspect he has no plan.
How Tory MPs can support him I don't know, probably scared of losing their jobs or have their eye on promotion.

No. It’s not just you.
And pot / kettle too.
I’m concerned that it’s going to go his way with party gate fatigue.
I literally hope to God that he doesn’t get away with with it again: just like he has all his bloody life

From memory Starmer pointed out at PMQT that Labour had asked for VAT to be removed from fuel but that the government had voted against it.

Well, it isn't. It's a performance and has been for decades.
Most of the parliamentary work goes on in the Select Committees and there are actually debates in the chamber of the HOC. It isn't a once a week knockabout between the PM and the other party leaders.
I've linked you to the debate on the Ukraine situation, yesterday, which will tell you a great deal more than a question in PMQs. Did you bother to look at it?
I am surprised that you don't think that having a lying, rule breaking, internationally distrusted, idle slob for a PM is a big issue relevant to the UK .

I'm quite a rotund person.
If I mention cake in the context of a reference to 18th century French Royalty, that's not an excuse for anyone to call me fat.
Unless they are a rude pompous git with no manners.
Alegrais did he actually call him fat or was it a tongue in cheek moment as Boris is not actually svelte himself.
I think he has been called plenty by Ian Blackford not to have a swipe back
Then again I could be biased Blackford does drone on
No, he said he knew who'd been eating the cake, if I recall. I was driving at the time.
So any excuses about it was just a bit of banter and he dishes it out too are just pathetic excuses for the sad, inadequate man we have in No 10 who thinks its acceptable to joke about other people's physical appearance.
Especially when it is very much a question of 'pot-kettle!'
