Such as what, wwm? All Sue Gray has been investigating, and what the police are investigating, are potential breaches of covid regs which if found to have happened are punishable by fines.

But they're not just at the level of parking fines. The organisers of at least 2 separate parties were fined £10,000 and I'd be happy to see the same penalty applied to the organisers of the Number 10 parties (with their names of course)

I am so cross that I had my first migraine in nearly two months today.
I can’t believe that this country, in just a few short years, has become so damaged.
We are all so helpless too. There isn’t another election for years and even if Johnson is booted out, who on Earth would replace him? He got rid of all the halfway decent Tories.

This is what happens when you have a liar for PM, nobody, well most of us, believes anything he says, or anything anyone associated with him says. I am astonished by the number of people who still think this is about parties, and that we should move on. I wonder who will be trotted out to defend this.

MayBee70, It’s not that I don’t think it stinks-it does. It’s just that posts criticise the Mail, the Telegraph, the BBC, the media or whoever, all delivering their own version. I agree you have to do a lot of research and then make up your own mind, but as you said, with your own bias.

I mean, he hasn't mentioned any UK politicians, he hasn't mentioned any UK police officers by name, he hasn't criticised anybody's behaviour.

He's just presented a situation and asked you to think about it. Bit quick of the mark with accusations of bias, there.

I don’t believe the Met are behaving in a manner which is either corrupt or complicit in this matter. This is what the media are doing their best to make us think. And I am paying attention, thank you.

Oh but they have already proved to be complicit- the Met has police guarding No 10 24/7. They were there when the parties took place; officers must have seen some of the parties on their CCTV cameras and must have seen (possibly quite drunk) people leaving in the early hours (especially the parties that took place on the eve of the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral). Perhaps they did mention it to their superiors - who knows - but, someone decided to cover it up and take no action. The fact that yesterday the Met said that the Gray report could be published then today change their mind is very odd and in all probability is another cover up - what else are we expected to think considering their past form?

Quite typical of him.

It says something when we have a prime minister and police commissioner who we can't trust to do the right thing.

How much civil service and Met time is being wasted, all because we have a PM and his cronies who couldn't be relied on to obey the law.

This absolutely stinks!
Yet, at the same time, a work of evil genius to come up with another ploy that will again keep JollyBoris in his job. Even Armando Iannucci would struggle to write this one.

Well that is one thing we both agree on, Cressida Dick is not and has not been anywhere near effective enough as Met Police Commissioner.

It is all very odd. The Met said earlier in the week that the report could be published, so why the change? Breaking COVID rules attract a fixed penalty so how would publishing the report change that unless they know someone would appeal against it and go to court.
All this argument and trying to cover up is making people more suspicious and angry-if Downing St and BJ had been honest and owned up at the beginning, paid whatever fines were imposed if any it would have died down by now. And this delaying tactic, if that’s what it is, is another kick in the teeth for those who lost loved ones.

As someone with family in the Metropolitan Police ( retired), can I say that I feel desperately sorry for the officers who are having to work under this current administration? The Protection officers who have stood and watched/signed in drink and caterers, friends of Carrie Johnson etc., and then had to go home to their own families and follow the rules like the rest of us did. Most of us are disgusted with the sneering contempt shown to the laws, to the electorate, imagine being the two men in the car with the liar in chief, you are both wearing masks, and the bloke in the back doesn't because he is so bloody special. My late Father, a senior officer in the Met, must be spinning in his grave.
