No she’s not in the least responsible for his actions but she is probably part of the encouragement of his actions or even the spur of some of his actions even just a simple thing like the money spent on their decorations which spawned a lot of hatred do you really believe he would have even bothered to make his bed if he was living alone

I wonder how bad Myra Hindley would have been without the encouragement of her partner they ate off the sane plate and when they met it was foulness waiting to happen same could be said for Fred and rosemary west two like minded people come together whatever their main objective is it is doubled

co horts in for jobs at the start it all seems so long ago I ve forgotten the details now

I've read some of the thread (not all yet) and so far haven't found my tuppenceworth: (1) What does she see in him? and (2) Neither of them are behaving like Conservatives at the moment – all crazy taxes, promises of idiotic insufficient refunds, high government spending (often wasteful), etc.

It's a baffling match in that respect. But it's not just them. I don't feel we really have a Conservative government at the moment. You could switch to pre-Corbyn Labour and I reckon the big picture would be pretty similar even if details differed.

I think she'll leave him when he can no longer indulge her expensive tastes and offer her an exalted position.

I used to in my despairing moments think what is the point of working hard, trying to do your job well etc, when I looked at both Johnson and Trump. But now I tend to think they are two of the unhappiest damaged men I have ever seen. Not that this excuses their actions.

I think part of the problem is that a lot of the public really see Johnson a child, who is not responsible for himself. You can hear it in the way he is talked about and its partly why he is always called by his first name, although that's also down to his own manipulation of his image.

Reportedly there have been power struggles between Carrie and certain aides. She’s been in attendance at many of the gatherings that Boris claimed were work events, so why was she there. Then there’s partying in the no 10 flat , reportedly to celebrate the departure of Cummings - complete with booze and karaoke She’s also given the access code to the number 10 flat to her mates and held get togethers in the flat while the PM’s red box full of confidential papers is on full display - although that’s mainly Boris’s fault, but some of her friends are journalists and there have reportedly been leaks.

I don't know about the way their marriage works, but I have wondered how her parents felt when she told them about her new romance, when they were first together. She tells them he is twice her age, twice (?) married, has a number of children, not all with his wife , and is politically at odds with her family (I understand). What did they say? Oh, lovely, darling? Or ??

Yes that's possible too fanny. Or its vaguely possible that he has got to the stage of life where he hasnt the energy to cheat, if you look at the likes of Rod Stewart it can happen, I am afraid I am too cynical to think its the case of finding 'the one' more a case of getting too old to play that game.

Johnson is deeply damaged by his childhood which is why he behaves as he does. When he leaves Carrie he will continue to behave in the same way but hopefully will not have much power by that stage.

But Galaxy put two power hungry people together and you get double the trouble think of any infamous couples and you can see how they may have been different without the other

Johnson has behaved in the same way for decades, pretty much all of his public life, long before he met Carrie.

I thought that we were due a ‘sensible’ thread about the current Mrs Johnson, as opposed to the ‘Paper Stripping’ one!

He’s written biographies of Cameron and Starmer too, as well as many others.
I suppose he thought that she was a suitable public figure for a biography
