The chap I mentioned was a murderer as well as a rapist and he raped and murdered within 24 hours of being released. It does make you wonder about how decisions to release these people are taken.

It seems wrong to me that someone who has raped women and children can appear to be safer when they have been in prison with men. They haven't had a chance to commit rape while inside but the minute they get out they go looking for prey.

It's absolutely unbelievable that someone so dangerous would not be under lock and key. They don't seem to care about our safety, more interested in making some space in the prisons it seems. It is quite chilling to think that such vile evil people are allowed any kind of freedom because this leaves us all at risk.

Hasn’t it been proved that people that commit offences like that are never safe to be given the opportunity to do it again, even in old age. He’s not going to use the spare time he has gazing at the view and having cups of tea is he?

From what I read yesterday he has raped children, been released and kidnapped a nine year old and various other crimes as well as the breaking in the house via a cat flap and raping a young woman! He’s dangerous and, if what I read is correct, he should either be locked up indefinitely or castrated.

Police are warning he could be ‘anywhere in the country’ as 8 hours elapsed before his absence was noted.

His photo has been on the news so he may try to lie low but if he has any money on him he could get on a train and go anywhere.

MayBee is this the UK or the US? DH was part of an open prison visiting programme. If they're in an open prison it is thought that they are possibles for rehabilitation and release under licence.
Someone DH was visiting had already raped again after a first release but they released him for a second time and I have since heard that he has been arrested for breaking parol conditions. I'm sure the intent to accept that people can change is sincere but some prisoners are very clever and obviously conceal their intentions. Not to make prior judgments about anyone but that's what I thought when I saw your post.

I’m only going by what it said on the news and it said he was a danger to women and children.

JJ2 It’s the UK. Boston in Lincolnshire.

Apparently the parole board suggested he be moved to an open prison in advance of being released but didn’t consider him suitable for release at that point - 2 or 3 years ago. Beggars belief.

Just seen this on our local news. It’s across the Bridge from us but still worrying.
Yes how on earth had he got through a cat flap? Must have been a big cat.
* Jaberwok* the common sense of ones making these decisions amazes me.

I'm astonished that this person was in an open prison, talk about asking for trouble!!

My husband has just announced that he got into someone’s house through the cat flap shock

Jokes aside, but Boston not that far away.

They say he poses a great danger to women and children. Why on earth was he is an OPEN prison?
