Prince Harry begins High Court legal battle against Home Office: First hearing set to be held today over Duke of Sussex's demand for police protection when he and Meghan visit UK

The queen has my sympathy!

and mine! Twerp.

And mine...Three princely plonkers!

The poor woman, it’s just one thing after another with that family isn’t it.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 18-Feb-22 12:29:14

Whether he wins or loses, the taxpayer will be paying legal costs. Even if you are successful and are awarded costs, what you are allowed is rarely what you have been charged. I despise what Harry has become with every fibre of my being and have no desire to see him set foot here ever again.

On a positive note, I hope some satisfactory solution is found, he sounds like he really wants to show the Queen his young family.

nanna8 Fri 18-Feb-22 12:33:12

Can’t believe the cheek of the man. Talk about entitlement. Just shows how removed from ordinary, everyday people and life he and his wife are.

LauraNorderr Fri 18-Feb-22 12:33:48

Sorry.
The queen has my sympathy.
I too am beginning to despise the entitled twerp.

tickingbird Fri 18-Feb-22 12:34:01

I’ve just heard this and I’m quite shocked at the brass neck of the man. I don’t have the words to express my amazement at his sense of entitlement. I’m not usually too bothered about him and Meghan but I hope he loses this case and I’ll be spitting feathers if he wins.

If that's what he wanted he could make a private visit to her with no-one knowing anything about it until they were back in the US. As has been said before. What they want is to swan around and be seen on the balcony.

He he, yes I agree with all that, but just living in hope that he might be acting out of the overused Archewell word "compassion" for his grandma!! Not likely I know.

Surely Harry and his family can fly in, then transfer by helicopter to Windsor or wherever the Queen is, then stay with the Queen throughout their stay, where they would be protected by the royal protection squad.

Yes, of course they could.
They could borrow Elton's private jet and no-one would ever know!

But I expect they want to be out and about, on the balcony, taking in all the adulation.

varian Fri 18-Feb-22 13:01:50

I cannot imagine that the royal protection squad would stand by and let somebody shoot Harry if he was standing on the balcony next to the Queen

No, but they doubt they want to come for a quiet, private family visit.

Callistemon21 Fri 18-Feb-22 13:05:43

Oh dear, the wind is distracting me and I'm making typos!

Namsnanny Fri 18-Feb-22 13:10:04

I'm sure any number of arrangements could be made. Of course you have to want to make the effort, and it would be without fanfare....

Calendargirl Fri 18-Feb-22 13:10:12

No wonder the poor Queen has lost weight!

If she is anything like mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers on GN, she must lie awake at night fretting over the various members of her family who constantly give her huge anxiety.

Harry seems determined to cause trouble wherever he can. If he is just starting to realise that his GM is a very old lady and unlikely to see his children again, he should have thought through all his actions earlier on.

You cannot tell me that he would have done all this without Meghan’s influence.

Namsnanny Fri 18-Feb-22 13:13:33

Yes Callistemon it issmile I look like I've been pulled through a hedge backwards, and I only popped out to anchor the garden chairs, incase they took off!

Janamax Fri 18-Feb-22 13:21:41

I fully sympathise with his concerns. He was chased by reporters when he returned to Britain for the unveiling of his mother's statue, last year. Given what happened to his mother I can understand his worries about security which are fully justified.

My thoughts exactly. I try not to get involved in the sometimes emotive H&M discussions as I am generally indifferent, but for someone who wishes to be left alone, he is something of an attention seeker. He could easily fly over and have a private visit. I imagine those organising the jubilee must be having a few sleepless nights what with Andrew, Harry, and the business of Charles's aide selling honours. It will just be The Queen, Anne, William and Kate and family on the balcony at this rate.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 18-Feb-22 13:28:02

All he has to do is keep his visit purely private. No need to be seen in public. No additional security needed. He is a private citizen and as was said on an earlier thread our police are not available for hire by private citizens.

HurdyGurdy Fri 18-Feb-22 13:29:10

I disagree Janamax. If he really wants to see his grandmother, he and his family could easily slip into the country under the radar, go and visit her, and slip back out again without anyone knowing they have been.

He and Meghan have enough incredibly wealthy friends, who could loan them private jets, and they could travel between the landing airport and whichever Royal home the Queen is at, by a car with blacked out windows, and the same in reverse.

His family is only at risk if he fanfares his movements. They could be as anonymous as they wish - but I don't suppose they are yearning for anonymity.

HurdyGurdy Fri 18-Feb-22 13:30:03

Sorry, other posts made at the same time as mine. Really hammering the point home lol
