Oh please, NO! I don’t live in Chichester but I live near enough. It was my favourite place for browsing the shops pre pandemic. I still go there occasionally, last time to Champneys for a massage. I don’t really want to meet Harry in the food isles of M+S.

Andrew still has security, probably paid for by the Queen. There is no comparison between Andrew and Harry. From what I gather (knowing people who know people) Andrew has always been despised. When the Queen goes under that proverbial bus, I can’t imagine Charles having much time for his brother. It is sad for his children and grandchildren but this is the RF and they have a history of producing rotters and charlatans. But Harry, though… Gransnet seems to echo the worst of the Daily Mail, which is sad. Of course he should have security in the UK. There are a lot of nutters out there who believe everything the Daily Fail and all who sail in her, write about him. If it wasn’t for these dreadful rags, Harry and Meghan would have been such a breath of fresh air.

What an unpleasant man he is turning out to be.

Maybe, as with Andrew, being the spare to the heir creates a demand to be seen as an equal to the older brother. By all accounts Andrew has always demanded acknowledgment of his royal status and Princess Margaret was the same, expecting much bowing and scraping. Although Harry doesn’t have the same reputation for being high and mighty the ‘what Meghan wants, Meghan gets’ order smacks of a similar tendency. I believe he’s been, unconsciously led astray by his wife, left a life he hated but still has that same sense of entitlement that comes with being born and brought up as a royal prince. He knows nothing else and being a celebrity doesn’t come anywhere near being royalty and he expects what he’s always had.

His argument is that his security team or any he could hire here ( ex SAS) wouldn’t have access to the same intelligence as the Met. Do we really believe that if the Met or our security services had any knowledge or intelligence around such matters they wouldn’t pass it on? Of course they would.

I believe Harry’s playing a game and trying to prove a point. I used to think he was lovely but not anymore.

Does his private security team in the US have access to CIA intelligence? I very much doubt it.
I imagine, considering gun ownership laws, there's far more chance of him getting shot in the US than there ever would be in the UK.

I have tremendous sympathy for the Queen , she must be devastated and very angry. Harry has made his decision to leave the royal family, of course he should not be able to hire the police on a private basis! I am sure he can facilitate a visit ‘safely ‘ and quietly if he wishes to do that. However I am not convinced it would be safe! It may be in his best interest to stay put , keep his head down , protect his family and stop courting attention! When Meghan married Harry she had no idea of the culture she was about to enter, I also wonder if she ever really intended to remain in this country. Harry has undoubtedly had a shocking time having lost his mother in such tragic circumstances- I understand that. However many other people are in the same situation , he is a privileged private citizen now . Has the contacts and financial security to live the life he has chosen . Perhaps he should stay put and do just that !?

What I find interesting is whether he could actually win this action. Theoretically it would appear he cannot, but stranger things have happened.

Up to a point they would pass on information, but it could get messy I suppose and there could be a conflict in the way things got handled.
