I will.

PollyDolly Sun 27-Feb-22 16:12:41

We don't physically have the space but will be helping in other ways..........bed linen, donations for hampers, toiletries, sanitary products.........the usual items that are so badly needed in a crisis.

Is money more useful than items I wonder? If refugees are not in UK there are transport costs.

paddyann54 Sun 27-Feb-22 17:45:13

if Bojo lets them come there will be many who will give them shelter .We have spare rooms and have no problem with offering them to people in need .Refugees and Asylum seekers have historically had a warm welcome in this area

Doodledog Sun 27-Feb-22 17:47:14

How can we host refugees if they are not allowed in? Similarly, how do we get items to them on mainland Europe? I am happy to send clothes and blankets, but it will need to be an organised and strategic effort.

I have donated to the Red Cross, and will continue to do so if necessary. Tbh, I can't help thinking that donations should come from the government, rather than individuals, though - they can send millions of pounds whereas individuals can only do so much, and organising lots of donations is a huge task.

We have a large house and could certainly host a family as and when

The UK will certainly bring refugees in so we shall see what happens.

MaizieD Sun 27-Feb-22 17:57:13

Sadly, circumstances prevent me from offering accommodation, but no problem with donating money or necessities.

rafichagran Sun 27-Feb-22 18:05:46

Will donate money,or help in any way I can, but do not have the room to put them up.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 27-Feb-22 19:08:59

We will do anything we can for them. We donated to the Red Cross out there. Hubby want to volunteer to go out and fight for them.

Shandy57 Sun 27-Feb-22 19:16:16

I've just donated to the army. Unfortunately I can't accommodate any refugees, but hope to donate clothing etc once a collection point is established here.

crazyH Sun 27-Feb-22 19:28:54

I will - but my children don’t want me to, because I guess I’m on my own and they’re worried

Blossoming Sun 27-Feb-22 19:36:52

Yes.

Barmeyoldbat Sun 27-Feb-22 19:37:38

We have a small house but have a spare large bedroom that we could offer to a lone refugee

Ailidh Sun 27-Feb-22 19:43:10

I can't, I live in a supported flat for single occupancy.

Like others, I will give what I can to humanitarian aid causes.

Visgir1 Sun 27-Feb-22 19:46:21

Yes we have the space.. And happy to give money as well.

mumofmadboys Sun 27-Feb-22 19:56:18

I would be happy to have refugees to stay

Coastpath Sun 27-Feb-22 20:04:36

We only have a tiny bungalow so no spare room, but I will volunteer in a shelter or do any other jobs to help. Wherever else is needed.

karmalady Sun 27-Feb-22 20:12:55

The refugees from ukraine will want to remain as close as possible to their homeland and would therefore prefer to be in countries like poland, hungary, romania etc but there are many charities to help look after them and they will need to be funded

I have sent a donation to the ukraine armed forces

bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-spetsrahunok-dlya-zboru-koshtiv-na-potrebi-armiyi?fbclid=IwAR0n1R9PjTYLxWS-Lb4NwXyzK6r78iPK4JUNeLE5AyIBN9HvF1IbNuifPG8

The people coming to the uk as refugees will likely be coming to a relative already here

MiniMoon Sun 27-Feb-22 20:18:20

Most certainly. I have hosted a couple of Ghanaians in the past. If I can help anyone fellow men, I will.

MiniMoon Sun 27-Feb-22 20:19:27

Any of my.

Rosie51 Sun 27-Feb-22 20:21:37

karmalady although it says it accepts UK £ the drop down doesn't seem to show £?
I've donated to a humanitarian charity but would support their armed forces too.

grandMattie Sun 27-Feb-22 20:24:04

Of course, if asked!

Serendipity22 Sun 27-Feb-22 20:27:00

I would in an instant.

Its heartbreaking for them.

karmalady Sun 27-Feb-22 20:28:47

That was a tricky link so don`t use it. I got the gbp account from jp morgan chase. This link is better for various charities in ukraine

karmalady Sun 27-Feb-22 20:37:28

after a lot of messing, it was easy to pay in USD via the small online form in my first link. They send a receipt if you put your e mail in on their response
