Bill Browder said there will be very high interest rates.
I suspect there is more to these loans, although I would imagine that by the time it gets to the borrowing stage Russia will be on its knees and won’t have anything to bargain with.
Shame ?

“Money will be needed to rebuild Ukraine after this. ??

That money should not come from the Russian people, but from Putin’s oligarchs.

That’s why Boris Johnson’s refusal to seize oligarch assets, giving them time to sell off and escape, is such a betrayal of Ukraine”.

Why do you think it is that the 27 countries of the EU have offered visa-free access to their countries for Ukrainian refugees for three years?

Are they uniquely immune to infiltration by Russian spies or are they just stronger than us or morally superior or cleverer or all of these?

karmalady ''We cannot let unidentified ukranians in kali2, russian agents will be trying to slip in as per the salisbury poisonings. Worse case, they could be carrying very toxic poison such as ricin. Ukranians going to a relative will be traceable. The unidentified with evil intent will simply vanish in the crowds, poisoning reservoirs etc is very feasible. Uk cannot and must not, let its guard down''

but no need to worry at all about those Russian oligarchs- who buy their citizenship and even places in the Lords, hey!

Questions for Tories as Pandora Papers reveal woman, 48, who has given £1.9m to the party and played tennis with Boris Johnson is ‘a housewife funded by her Russian ex-minister husband’

I believe this is the woman who is part of the so called inner circle of experts who currently advise the Tory party. It is obvious that her husband must be close to Putin, we all know what happens to those who fall out with him. All the Tory party say when challenged is that the people concerned are British citizens.

At this morning's PMQs, Johnson was asked if the Conservative Party would donate the money it got from Lubov Chernukhin to help Ukraine.

He declined to answer.

Well Harrods would go into liquidation without their spending for starters!
I think there are many that keep themselves and any information about themselves well hidden as Russia I believe has a similar system to the Mafia!

I watched Bill Browder talking about this this morning. Absolutely fascinating. What that man doesn’t know about Russia and Putin isn’t worth knowing.
He claimed that the Chinese will bail out the oligarchs who take a financial hit.
There’s a big piece on him with Wikipedia.

Did he say what the Chinese would gain from bailing them out?

That is why I think that they are being so slow in identifying them.

Last week, the Center for American Progress, a US thinktank close to President Biden, warned that “uprooting Kremlin-linked oligarchs will be a challenge given the close ties between Russian money and the United Kingdom’s ruling Conservative party, the press, and its real estate and financial industry”.
