I am delighted for the Queen that she has had an Easter visit from her grandson, I know I relish every moment spent with my grandchildren. We are led to assume by the media that the Sussex children were not with them. As it is also reported that the Duchess is only staying at the Games for a short period, it is perhaps understandable why they are not accompanying their parents.

Doubtless information about protection officers being nearby whilst they walked in the grounds will soon be confirmed in due course. as they appeared to be close to a coach containing members of the public, None of us know what has changed, or who said what and why, so it is pointless speculating.

I thought they might do that as this way they could be in and out without the publicity which might put them in danger. When you see the vitriol on forums like GN and then add in a few terrorist nutters, you can see why they might feel that they are in danger without adequate security. Maybe their security at The Hague is somewhat better than they are being offered in the UK for a memorial service!

I’m glad Harry and Meghan came to visit the Queen and also pleased they did it quietly, without fuss.

It strikes me though, that they are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Imagine the outcry if it had been announced beforehand - the media would have had a field day. This, I suspect, is probably the real reason they didn’t attend Prince Philip’s memorial service - the media would have made them it’s focus rather than the memorial service itself, and H & M would have been accused of stealing the limelight by some.

Just a thought. It just occurred to me that they might have flown in privately before and just not been spotted?
