Prince Harry and Meghan secretly visit Queen in Windsor: Duchess sets foot on UK soil for first time in two years for 'olive branch' meeting after couple snubbed Philip's memorial on security grounds - but Lilibet and Archie stay in California

Always one for pictures me, I just saw a few photos and a newsreel of Harry and Meghan at the games. Lots of running about after them by a dead cat on a stick and someone wearing a headset looking like Atom Ant. Is the Netflix production a cartoon?
I do like Meghan's jacket.

I can’t imagine what people are saying to be deleted.

I bet the queen would have preferred to just see her grandson.

I believe Harry saw Prince Charles and that their conversation didn’t last long. ?

Wonderful cake maddyone - you are a great baker.

maddyone Sat 16-Apr-22 18:42:03

Thank you JaneJudge,TillyTrotter, and volver for cake admiration. I just hope it tastes as good as it looks. Mr M can barely wait for tomorrow. I’m still wondering if the Queen likes simnal cake? Or Harry and Meghan come to that. Maybe Meghan has never come across simnal cake as she’s American. I don’t know what their Easter customs are.

Do you mean that you think his wife wasn't welcome? Please tell us you don't mean that sad

Ohh, that could be something I have in common with Meghan! I've never had simnel cake either! Send me a slice maddyone wink

Which brings me a small point about New Zealand. My daughter and family are currently living there as many of you know. I had a message from her this week; hot cross buns are $24 dollars for four there. That’s about £12 for four hot cross buns. I should think at that price there’s only the royal family who could afford them (got to get the royals in somewhere, it’s a royal thread.)

On its way to Scotland for you volver.

karmalady Sat 16-Apr-22 18:48:22

A flying visit, a scant 15 minutes with Charles, made sure to be seen by waving and shouting hello. Orchestrated for netflix

maddyone Sat 16-Apr-22 18:48:46

Shall I send a slice to Meghan? Do you think she’d want it?

LauraNorderr Sat 16-Apr-22 18:55:24

Message deleted by poster as a waste of bloody time putting thought in to a decent post.

JaneJudge Sat 16-Apr-22 18:55:36

are we supposed to answer each subsequent post spitefully?
Yes, as long as her yellow bellied husband didn't eat any, the traitor wink

As well as normal meals today I have eaten a mini magnum a croissant two pieces of chocolate and a packet of overpriced crisps. I have made a right royal Pig of self. But no simnel cake …anything marzipan based gets my vote though !

I think you should ask some of the other posters here maddyone. They seem to know exactly what Meghan is thinking and what her motives are, so they'd be bound to know if she'd like some simnel cake. wink

Oh it is Gransnet? I was a bit confused I thought I had accidentally arrived on Childsnet,

Simnel cake has been deleted as eating it is against WW guidelines.

There’s childish and there is childish ….

What? Even just the marzipan? Or does that just get deleted? If you eat the whole cake do you get suspended ?

Callistemon21 Sat 16-Apr-22 22:33:24

Marzipan is the worst.
I know it sounds nuts but it's full of fat and sugar!!

The cake might just be ok as it's full of dried fruit which can help keep you regular ?
Eating a whole cake keeps you suspended on the loo for hours.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 16-Apr-22 22:35:55

This thread has turned a bit Daily Mail! I certainly won’t be adding any more to it.

Callistemon21 Sat 16-Apr-22 22:40:32

Does the Daily Mail have a recipe for Simnel cake?
Do you have a link,*Ladyleftfieldloover*?

Ps I don't have any marzipan but I do have a large bag of almonds - can I make my own?

mokryna Sun 17-Apr-22 00:24:45

Maybe not but you could tear it into squares while you are suspended..

maddyone Sun 17-Apr-22 00:53:57

You can make your own almond paste Callistemon. I used to do that, but I can’t be bothered nowadays.
Anyway the simnal cake will be deleted tomorrow. By Mr M. Well pretty much anyway, there might be a bit left on Monday to send to volver and Meghan.
