Surely somebody should be directing this poor man to step down? It’s distressing to watch him. Where is the compassion?

Not as clever as my professorial husband.

What exactly is it that you and Katie and Boy and Meryl et al are commenting on? I just You Tubed his speeches made in the last few days and he seemed a lot more cogent than Boris Johnson. So what's this really about? I'm relatively new to Gransnet but I can detect disingenuousness when I encounter it.

As far as I remember from my time at Manchester a Professorship is given to academics who have published extensive research work

I was genuinely concerned. So no, you can’t.

Urmstongran Fri 15-Apr-22 16:09:34

Not Biden then, Joane?

Biden was an honorary professor at the Philadelphia school from February 2017 to April 2019.

Urmstongran Fri 15-Apr-22 16:14:20

Honorary. That explains it.

But what about the fact his gaffes have become more frequent in recent months? Earlier this month, he said First Lady, Jill Biden had served as Barack Obama's vice president, a job he had held himself for eight years.

I think he’s losing it.

Of course you were.

I don't believe it was an honorary post. Actually I'm almost sure...

Ah Gill57 you can always be relied upon to start the vitriol. On any subject.

And you can always be relied upon to start a controversial thread and then cry foul when your unresearched, unreferenced nonsense is exposed for what it is.

Id rather have 1 Biden than 100 Bojo's

I'm still trying to imagine 100 Bojo's. I will have nightmares tonight.

I didn’t think he looked like he was shaking hands with a non existent person. I think he was looking side stage for guidance from staff on which way he should exit.

I searched for the clip after seeing this thread. The first thing that appeared was the Daily Mail. Nuff said!

Yes, it looks like that.

I've used that gesture myself - "which way now, left or right?"

Totally agree the ‘handshake’ just wasn’t.
The other stuff just is.
