, or Teresa May Street for that matter though Urmstongran. The UK wouldn’t have had a different strategy to help Ukraine - it’s not about Boris as an individual, although it’s a convenient shield for him to hide behind.

I know Tory voters who are appalled at this unprincipled PM and don't know who to vote for in the local elections as a consequence.

Many of them won't vote. Some will vote Lib Dem. Some of them will vote for Independent candidates. If those council byelections in rural areas are anything to go by, a surprising number may vote Green.

A quick look on Google Maps reveals ‘Boris Johnson Street’ appears to be in dire need of attention.

The single-track lane is full of potholes, while the Boris-like vegetation could do with a trim.

There is a long list of Tory MPs, who stated that they could no longer support Johnson if he was given a fine by the police.

I think his back is against the wall, so he wants to delay the vote in the hope that events will overtake people’s anger - including what sounds like a growing number of Tory MPs who will vote against him. One more fine and he will be forced go - he probably knows it’s on the way.

Johnson has said the public are not concerned about the scandal of Downing Street parties.

Is that for him to decide? Shouldn't he be listening to what the public are telling him?... even some of his own party?

It's a typical current Tory tactic. Some voters are not concerned so he's jumped on that implying that it's the view of the electorate in general - and he knows damned well it isn't - hiding behind the atrocity of Ukraine as a shield against criticism.

Ukraine isn't about Johnson, it's about - or should be - a collaborative effort by the West to counteract the actions of a rabid megalomaniac, Putin. And if he's so concerned, he should make it possible for refugees arriving from the benighted country to find safety here instead of allowing Patel to force them to jump through hoops...

I would really like to be able to find one commendable thing to say about Johnson as a human being and as a Prime Minister. I disliked Thatcher and her ideology, intensely, but she had one admirable quality... she (IMO) truly believed in her doctrine and didn't hesitate to court unpopularity to implement it; which in the end caused her downfall. She had an ideal, it was her life, and that moment when she left Downing Street for ever, in tears in the car... I genuinely felt some empathy for her.

Johnson, on the other hand, I don't believe has ever had a moment of genuine self-reflection or regret in his privileged life. His over-weening ambition is all that matters to him. He was an ardent Remainer - but the crowd ran the opposite way, so he jumped in front of them and said "follow me". I don't think he has any principles or ideals other than those of self-promotion. He has lied, he has cheated, and he will continue in the same vein until he is eventually deposed. I can't find one good character trait, and I wish I could.

The problem is that Conservative "plans" are a mirage MayBee. People may tell you they exist and try to put forward what they call their plans. But these "plans" are illusionary.

The Rwanda Solution is an excellent example of these "smoke and mirrors" so-called plans. Like so much that comes from this Conservative government, it is a fraud. No "plan" exists. Both Conservative MPs and the Department that put it forward have questioned its ability to achieve the goal set out for it. But a plan is actioned to achieve a target. If it cannot do this, it is not a plan.

Little of what the government puts forward are plans for the governance of this country. Sometimes, however, they are plans to help them win another election. The Rwanda Solution was designed to do just that. It cannot change anything for the better. However, it does rally the intolerant, narrow-minded, fundamentalists among us to its support. The Rwanda Solution is about cruelty, not a plan for something better for those who already suffer.

So, Conservative supporters, don't you dare ask for a plan from those you have not put in a position to carry it through when those who could do so are simply out to inflict pain on others to stay in power. The Conservatives want to keep the power they have to look after the very rich, the very entitled because they think this group have a right to rule. They will use any cruel and lying way to do so.

I cannot for the life of me understand what it is that keeps ordinary people loyal to him. He is the complete antithesis of a decent human being and a wrecker of everything he touches.

He knew he would lose the vote so he's delaying the vote. He knows the reports will damn him so he will no doubt try to delay them.

He knows his time is up and so now he's trying to delay, probably in the hope that some devastating world event will buy him more time.

Dickens that is the first time I have heard 'over-weening' used in relation to Johnson and it was utterly made for him.

He and his cronies say he has to stay “because of the war in Ukraine”. On the contrary, it’s because he’s a proven liar surrounded by corruption that the mere thought of such a charlatan ‘leading’ this country at such a time really frightens me.
When he meets with Zelensky how will we know if he tells us the truth about anything that is said? How could Zelensky believe any promises Johnson might make? How can we believe Johnson would tell us and/or Parliament the truth about any advice he receives from his military advisers or the intelligence services?
How do we know he won’t just spin everything to suit his own political agenda?
He’s already throwing cold water on the prospect of peace talks with Putin even though Zelensky has said time and again that he wants to persevere.
A prolonged war in Ukraine suits Johnson because it deflects from his abysmal failures at home.
