Tories accuse Angela Raynor of "doing a Basic Instinct"

Totally outrageous, misogynistic so called news item in the dreaded DM today.

Senior Tories have accused Angela Raynor of distracting our buffoon Prime Minister by crossing and uncrossing her legs - à la Sharon Stone - in Prime Minister's question time.

Can they sink any lower???

Yet another disgusting example of the true mind sets of the guffawing Tories. They're a disgrace yet again.

To cap it all BBC reported that an MP caught viewing porn in the chamber!

I’ve just listened to it and she’s joking and laughing about it. I’ve tried to do a link but it won’t work.

When I saw her she was concerned about her children seeing any of this trash and annoyed because the insinuation was that she was thick because she went to a comprehensive school.

Misogynistic superiority is still evident in the corridors of power.

Well if as Casdon said, only JRM can see Ms Rayner's legs, perhaps he needs (or wants) a good spanking from nanny and then his mouth washed out with soap

I believe some pay highly for that service ??.

Should Boris and Gove been outraged by the slurs on them? Imagine the outrage if one of them had stated a female opposition member attempts to schmooze them.

I refuse to take this rubbish seriously.

I'm sure she'll be damned whichever way she reacts.

... and for the MoS - that's job done.

I'm willing to bet that in her quiet moments, she's not at all amused by the accusation.

AR also says she thinks Boris and Gove try and romance her in a fashion as they don’t know how to deal with her. Obviously she denies doing the leg crossing stuff but she’s laughing and joking about it. She strikes me as a well rounded individual who finds this nonsense more comedic than serious. Good for her.

How on earth does any of that make what the MoS reported right?

Well it doesn't but it deflects blame, doesn't it?

Which podcast is that tickingbird?

tickingbird Wed 27-Apr-22 10:06:16

How is it political gain when people from all parties are deploring it?

As I said - political gain!

tickingbird Wed 27-Apr-22 10:04:57

Not

Farzanah Wed 27-Apr-22 10:04:22

The GPs I worked with, the men often wore shorts in the summer and the women strappy tops for comfort montymops
What’s wrong with the way Angela Rayner dresses?

tickingbird Wed 27-Apr-22 10:03:34

Volver. No un corroborated when it’s on a podcast.

montymops Wed 27-Apr-22 09:54:15

In answer to your question Misadventure- my family’s jobs are as follows- one is a GP, one is a surgeon, one is a nurse and one is a QC. In their jobs, their clothes are hardly glamorous or sexy - it would not be either appropriate or allowed, for them to dress like Angela Rayner does in her job. Come to think of it - it might be sensible for the House of Commons to all dress in scrubs ??

Fair point Casdon.

The Rees-Mogg thing - I feel a bit sick now ?

Casdon Wed 27-Apr-22 09:51:15

Whoop sorry I attached the wrong quote!

It is a tactic beloved of disengaged schoolgirls; slouch down in the chair, hitch the miniscule skirt up even higher; cross and uncross legs or splay them whilst staring fixedly at the male teacher. If reproved by the teacher he is then called a 'dirty perv for staring at me.'

I think actually volver it is for political gain, but Angela Rayner’s, so not in the way the MoS intended at all, it’s backfired big time. What would be the cherry on the cake would be if the ‘source’ turned out to be Jacob Rees-Mogg, who can see her legs from his slouching position, and deserves a good telling off.

I've just been reading the front pages on the BBC website.

If the Mail make up a story about someone, and then the Mail tell me she was laughing about it, its not exactly independent corroboration, is it?

Apparently Ms Rayner WAS laughing about this nonsense as I thought earlier in this thread. It’s now been weaponised for political gain. It’s hilarious.

Cue the outrage ?

But we assume that he isn’t blaming the child for his poor performance in the classroom and denigrating her working class origin, maintaining that she will never reach his heady heights on debating ability, because of his so called “training”

Nanna58

MissAdventure and Madgran77, I have 4 crutches at the moment after a foot op , a pair upstairs and a pair downstairs. Good job I’m not in Parliament, I could inflame the whole House of Commons flashing those! ?

Too risky Nanna58. A mass orgy isn't befitting in Parliament ....apparently, just like ARs legs!!
