Tories accuse Angela Raynor of "doing a Basic Instinct"

Totally outrageous, misogynistic so called news item in the dreaded DM today.

Senior Tories have accused Angela Raynor of distracting our buffoon Prime Minister by crossing and uncrossing her legs - à la Sharon Stone - in Prime Minister's question time.

Can they sink any lower???

Yet another disgusting example of the true mind sets of the guffawing Tories. They're a disgrace yet again.

Farzanah Sun 24-Apr-22 10:07:11

I can’t believe this has been published in a national newspaper in the 21st century. Why is there so much sexism in politics, is it a power thing?

Ilovecheese Sun 24-Apr-22 10:19:00

I see that their popular culture references are, as usual, about thirty years out of date.

DiamondLily Sun 24-Apr-22 10:24:05

Are the Tories seriously saying their "esteemed" leader cannot control himself, and concentrate, if he's around a woman?

Worrying if they are.?

Blossoming Sun 24-Apr-22 10:25:12

How revolting. They have shown us yet again what vile misogynists they are. Are we expected to believe that the PM’s shambolic performance is all Angela Rayner’s fault?

Farzanah Sun 24-Apr-22 10:26:01

Looks that way DiamondLily.

To be fair she apparently 'admitted as much when enjoying drinks with us on the terrace' so it's entirely possible although she would never admit it publicly. It would be a very easy thing to do whilst protesting it's not deliberate. Who would ever know except her?

Grandmabatty Sun 24-Apr-22 10:30:28

It is vile, misogynistic tripe by a 'journalist' who looks like he's getting back at all the girls who rejected him. Angela Raynor has refuted it extremely strongly on twitter. However, let's not forget who owns the paper it appeared in. This is another dead cat thrown in an attempt to deflect attention away from Johnson and his flouting of laws.

Nannee49 Sun 24-Apr-22 10:32:11

Apparently, according to the Tory Terry Thomas wannabes, Ms Raynor can't compete with the intellectual debating prowess of our leering leader so has been accused of adopting other methods to throw him off his stride.

I'm absolutely seething as a woman to see another so disrespected. And these are the same arrogant twonks who'll be seeking our votes come May.

Blimey!

Do you understand the meaning of misogyny?

Perhaps not after reading your misogynistic post.

Crikey! Worrying that the PM of the UK is so easily distracted. Very unprofessional.

Its official. We're back in the seventies.

Did you check what this unnamed Tory source quoted in the Daily Mail said she admitted to Chestnut?

It isn’t just the sexism though is it.

That foul article drips classism and snobbery.

They simply can’t accept that a working class woman who was schooled in the state system, could possible compete in a debate with someone who’s parents paid for their education.

That would include I suspect the vast majority reading this thread.

growstuff Sun 24-Apr-22 10:44:09

So Angela Rayner is often mocked for being "uneducated" and a bit ... er ... common and uncouth, but it would appear she has great legs! hmm

I thought we'd moved on from the days when it was OK to lech after (and maybe more) the pretty parlour maid!

PS. Rayner always has great shoes!

DiamondLily Sun 24-Apr-22 10:44:52

Johnson is hopeless at debate anyway. He can't debate with journalists and he can't debate with other politicians.

A complete waste of space. ?

JaneJudge Sun 24-Apr-22 10:48:49

WTAF ???????

I agree! It's a vile article.

This is as good a time as any to remind everyone

Whitewavemark2 Sun 24-Apr-22 10:53:44

Angela Raynor

JaneJudge Sun 24-Apr-22 10:55:57

I just ventured over to the dark side to read the article. Could they be any more vile? angry

Ms Rayner, 41, a socialist grandmother who left school at 16 while pregnant and with no qualifications before becoming a care worker, has frequently landed blows on the Prime Minister during sparky – some say flirty – exchanges.

During one encounter in January, Mr Johnson raised claims that she was agitating to succeed Sir Keir by saying: ‘We all know what job she wants.’

Whitewavemark2 Sun 24-Apr-22 10:58:50

Remind me who called the Tory MPs

SCUM?

I reckon whoever said it had a point.

Zoejory Sun 24-Apr-22 11:00:54

This appears to be one of the Mail's exclusives. Other papers are calling it ridiculous which it is. I didn't think that GN folk read the Mail.

Apart from anything else, they've got the wrong film. It wasn't due to Sharon Stone crossing/uncrossing her legs it was due to the lack of underwear.

I doubt even the Mail would infer that.

Totally pathetic story for clickbait.

To avoid confusion I am no fan of this government . But please. Let's not make a trashy story in a trashy paper into some massive deal.

“Uneducated” Angela Rayner is more than a match for Eton & Oxford educated Johnson and can wipe the floor with him when she stands in for Starmer a PMQs.
I think he’s scared of her ?

Farzanah Sun 24-Apr-22 11:06:28

I don’t read the Mail but it was featured on Broadcasting House BBC4 this morning.
