Theodora’s post is nothing short of disgraceful.
???
The USA’s Supreme Court have approved a (draft) judgement to overturn Roe v Wade decision. If this is passed, abortion (no matter what the circumstances) immediately becomes illegal in at least 22 states.
They don’t hate abortion. They hate women. Misogyny is at the heart of every right wing movement. Trump’s Republicans and Johnson’s Tories.
I am so glad I am old because this world is becoming unbearable to live in.

Some women aren't meant to be mothers and forcing them to raise children they resent is condoning the abuse of children.
Some women can't afford to be mothers and forcing them to raise children they cannot provide for especially when added to existing children is condoning the poverty of children.
Some women want to be mothers and cannot but forcing women to carry to term and overwhelming the demand from childless people by flooding the system with unhomed, unwanted children is condoning the neglect of children.
Some mothers carry fetuses not fit for life who would struggle for their every moment in this world with no ability to express their pain and forcing women to carry them to term is condoning the sufferring of children.
Some women are made pregnant by violation in a country where rapists can and do get visitation to their children and forcing those women to carry those children is condoning children raised in unstable environments.
Some women are not healthy enough to carry a child and forcing them to carry to term at the risk of their own lives is condoning the orphaning of children.
Those who are anti abortion must be responisble for the life, the financial support and the emotional well being of every unwanted, unsupportable, desperately unwell or at risk child from from birth to 18 or they have absolutely no right to a voice in this.
Otherwise their words which carry no real comfort and no kindness to the lives they profess to protect are, when understood in broader terms, simply abusive.

I know that members are afraid to voice their opinion because they feel out numbered here and have fear of being verbally attacked as I have been
But I am not afraid

No...neither me, it just gets hard work, a bit like arguing with teenagers.
Doodledog. It’s strange you mentioned ‘ assault’, in that you felt this patient was being threatened with it. I was assaulted twice in my nursing career....and once was by this patient. If I remember rightly, she kicked quite a few of us in the anaesthetic room.
TheodoraP
Doodledog perhaps that Doctor that spent 7 years of his life learning to help save lives wasn't comfortable with terminating baby after baby
Your anger to this Dr is mis guided you show no anger towards the women that continued to be promiscuous regardless to the consequences
You argue her argument all in the name of choice for women and count out anything else
Perhaps he wasn't, in which case he shouldn't have to perform terminations.
I'm not angry with the doctor, but I don't think he should be allowed to practise if he is unable to keep his thoughts to himself, and more particularly if he threatens an abuse of power like the one you described.
No, I am not angry at the woman either - it's none of my business, and any anger I felt would be hugely misplaced.
I am not 'arguing her argument' in the name of anything other than shock that a doctor would threaten to assault a patient if she didn't follow his instructions. I am not 'excusing' women who use abortion as a means of contraception either (not that it's my place to excuse anyone). I am simply appalled at the actions of that doctor - he had no right to say that, and if the BMA found out about it he would (rightly) be in serious trouble. If the press found out I don't know what would happen.

That doctor, like all medical professionals could use the conscientious objection and be excused from partaking in the abortion. That he threatened an unconsented action on a woman is inexcusable.

And some will not come on because they are afraid of those who share your veiw.
That's life.

Daisyanne are you a lawyer because you are speaking like one in that you are twisting my words
Members have no reason to fear me as I am not call naming I am simply giving my opinion
This thread makes me weep.
As if medical staff haven't got enough to deal with without patients kicking them, that is so terrible *
DiscoDancer1975* and must be soul destroying because you study for so long and work so hard with no Real clocking off time because you want to help people just crazy
Theodora yours views are irresponsible.
And ultimately meaningless because they have no substance to women pt children. You offer nothing.
You are not pro life, you are pro birth.
What happens after you have no concept of nor care for.
I am reporting TheodoraP as her posts are beyond ‘having an opinion’ - they’re coming across as being deliberately spiteful
There will be women on here who have had to make the really hard & painful decision to have an abortion - to read posts like his/hers? are not in the spirit of the site in my opinion.
But HQ can obviously decide.

My comment wouldn't prevent anyone from commenting if they wished to, unlike yours.
I expect you don't read the Sunday Telegraph. One of the supplements today contained an article written by a woman recently married who found out at her 20 week scan that her baby had such abnormalities as to mean that it would never be able to breathe, let alone walk, unaided. The abnormalities included absence of a lower jaw and shoulders and legs malformed beyond what I can describe. The prognosis was that the baby would die in the womb or during birth. She had a termination and described leaving home pregnant, returning empty. It was heartbreaking to read. This was 17 years ago. She went on to have three normal children but still celebrates the due date and date of birth of this baby and has difficulties when asking how many children she has. I suggest that anyone condemning abortion, including Theodora, reads that article and tries to understand what that woman went through and still suffers all these years later.
You have read of the similar experience of one of our respected posters Theodora and yet you still make your vile comments. I too will be reporting you and am happy for that to be known.

TheodoraP is simply voicing her opinion. In my opinion it is the responses are spiteful.
Stop bullyimg!

As I said, HQ can look at all her posts on this thread & make their minds up.
I’ve reported TheodoraP. Up to gransnet how they respond
Where’s the evidence all women regret abortions
Where’s the evidence women use abortion as contraception? I accept some women have more than 1 termination. There are many complex reasons for that.
I have had quite a few disagreements with gsm over time, she has never ever said anything that would stop me from posting.
Oh for goodness sake.
Lots of people saying that someone is posting dangerous nonsense and that it hurts others isn't bullying. It's a public service.
I have had many disagreements with many posters over time and not once has anyone said anything which would stop me posting. We are, after all, supposed to be adults on here, are we not? We should be able to debate and disagree - even on contentious issues like this - without resorting to behaviour which would be more at home in the playground.
Calling women murderers was a bit too much for me, especially without any understanding of the situatoons involved. I don't see how anything else that has been said could possibly be worse than that or even come close.
