Thank you everyone. In fact I was not the only poster to receive a nasty PM from our erstwhile friend/her brother but will not say more than that. There is another who remains anonymous and will continue to do so who is deserving of sympathy.

Torge, may I refer you to a post of mine about the failure of the morning after pill, which resulted in the (surprising) arrival of my much loved GS. Contraception can fail, and not everyone is in the position of my daughter and son in law to be able to get on with it.

Sorry, GSM, for the behaviour of some people who claim to be Christians. I am not sure that Jesus, should he pop in tomorrow, would want to have dinner with them.

I agree. I have been informed that we will not hear from a certain poster again. I must say it makes a change to be addressed as ‘Oi bitch’. Not a pleasant one. This post will probably be deleted.

Re. your post today @ 12.55 Dickens I did read your previous short post and as a Christian was not at all offended as I understood where you were coming from, but just wanted to let you know I appreciate what you posted today .

This is such an emotive subject isn't it and I did post at the beginning of this thread that I am not against abortion per se, but it does concern me that it can and is used as a form of contraception.

That said it is wrong to demonise anyone who has made the decision and I agree Iam that having got up to date with this thread, it is good to see how the majority can enter into this discussion without abusing those who disagree with their point of view.

I’ve been planting out the sweet peas I started from seed. An activity I find enjoyable. My mother’s regular comment when we were in the garden was ‘you’re closer to God in the garden than anywhere else on earth”. Mum had a gentle faith, typical CofE, her advice to me as a rebellious anti faith 16 year old was to take the best I could from the faith I grew up in and ignore bigoted people who claimed to have a hot line to their toe.
Catching up with this thread, even having missed many of what must have been dreadful deleted posts, Its a relief to read comments from posters I respect, who don’t see Christian posters as sharing anything with the zealots who’ve arrived
Abortion is always a sensitive topic. Good to see the majority able to discuss without abuse
