Just that really.

Serves the mealy-mouthed hypocrite right.

On another thread I mentioned lots of people who caught covid while lavishing praise on facemasks and their so-called effectiveness. Here's one of them. Not once, but twice

^ It will be interesting to see if Durham have broken the Purdah as I seem to remember it should last until a new council is formed.^

Durham CC wasn't participating in local elections this year. We did it last year.

Richard Holden is not too innocent, either.

Darn!

What a hypocrite. I hadn't seen that, Maizie.

There is this coming up too. David Warburton MP for Somerton and Frome.

OakDryad Fri 06-May-22 18:35:02

Not for the first time.

And don't forget his 2018 court case after which he said:

My anger is reserved for the police who job is to prosecute not persecute. You lose all faith in the system, especially the police.

Axe to grind? He should know better than anyone the consequences of allegations which are subsequently deemed to be be false. Or maybe it is exactly because he knows the consequences that he is pushing this with such energy.

Do you think it's possible to lose an 80 seat majority by just having the law-breakers brought to book over the next two years? There are all the PPE frauds to start us off.

“‘Ello, ‘ello, ‘ello ?‍♂️ -what have we here Keith? A party where invitations were sent out during lockdown? So - you weren’t ambushed by a cake? Hmm. 30 curries ordered we hear? Went on till 10pm sir? A work event you say?”

Maybe it’s time Starmer got himself lawyered up? Oh what’s that? He has Lord Falconer on speed dial this weekend.

Not much of a fuss being made on here! Oh wait a mo - it isn’t Boris & the Tories!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-May-22 18:05:04

The leaked memo if it’s legitimate certainly looks like an invite

Urmstongran Sat 07-May-22 18:06:47

Doesn’t it just GG13?

Actually, today Diane Abbott is the first Labour MP to say that, if fined, he should resign.

But is her allegiance to the truth?
Nah, it is to Jeremy Corbyn, her mate who Starmer displaced.
?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-May-22 18:08:37

Honestly it’s time for a GE

MayBee70 Sat 07-May-22 18:53:05

Abbott hates Keir. Because he isn’t Corbyn. She goes out of her way to undermine him at every opportunity.

Anniebach Sat 07-May-22 18:57:43

Several of Corbyn’s team are wielding the knife.

Urmstongran Sat 07-May-22 19:00:33

Anniebach political shenanigans abound eh?

Urmstongran Sat 07-May-22 19:06:08

Lisa Nandy advised Starmer to ‘shut up’. He should have listened!

Anniebach Sat 07-May-22 19:09:39

Yes Urmstongran the person who came forward with new
allegations was with Starmer that evening, timed it perfectly
didn’t he/she ?

What 'leaked memo' would that be, GG13?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 07-May-22 19:18:15

I’ve just seen this - blimey this desperate stuff isn’t it?

I think it simply confirms exactly what Starmer said.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-May-22 19:20:10

Google is very useful MaizieD

I'm looking for the leaked memo - anybody got a copy? No?

What a surprise.

What a surprise.

I’ll try to copy it.

volver Sat 07-May-22 19:25:21

Good. Thanks. Or a link would do.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 07-May-22 19:27:02

I think what has been omitted is also significant. But as far as I am concerned it simply confirms what I understood to have happened.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 07-May-22 19:27:34

That’s not very clear is it?

Casdon Sat 07-May-22 19:32:17

There wasn’t a national lockdown in place on 30th April 2021.

I read online that:

An operational note drawn up ahead of Sir Keir’s notorious visit to Durham, where he was filmed enjoying a late-night beer with activists, reveals the gathering had been planned in advance. The bombshell document, marked ‘private and confidential’, also calls into serious doubt Sir Keir’s claim that he returned to work after the beers and takeaway curries. After the entry recording the ‘dinner in Miners Hall’ – which includes a note to ‘arrange takeaway from Spice Lounge’, a local curry house – the document simply says: ‘End of visit.’

This isn’t a smoking gun. It just indicates that after a day out campaigning, people were planning to meet at the end of it to discuss the days events. Working people were allowed to eat during coronavirus restrictions.
