The loss of freedom of speech, of sidelining women and biology

I've been asked to repost this:

'Julie Bindel had a pretty horrendous time whilst delivering a (previously postponed) lecture to York University's Free Speech Society.

The activists, who say we must be "all be kind" didn't display much courtesy or kindness to her.?

She was abused, accused, screamed at, and had placards thrust in her face. The TW mob were out in force, and she was "invited" to kiss their "man-boobs" and told things she could do with their "trans d*cks".

Meanwhile, in the Court case involving Alison Bailey, Stonewall tell us that there are no such things as male and female bodies. They don't exist...?

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10807211/We-not-inherently-male-female-Stonewall-campaigner-says-bodies-just-bodies.html

It sure is a funny old world out there in Trans La-La land.

Unbelievable. I've thought the McCain 'inclusivity' ads were bandwagonitis for some time (and insensitive to boot), but this one takes the biscuit.

And as for the skateboarding - that poor 13 year old! What sort of man would do that to a child, and how can he take any sort of pride in his 'achievement'?

FarNorth Tue 28-Jun-22 09:28:23

McCain's & their new Creative Director, drag queen Baga Chipz, have come up with a stunningly offensive ad for midweek meals - yes, really.

Meanwhile, over the pond, a 29 year old father of 3, now TW, has taken pride in beating a 13 year old and 10 year old girl, in a National skateboarding championship, competing as a female...?

"The transgender skateboarder, 29, who claimed first prize in a New York City women's competition this weekend, defeating her 13-year-old and 10-year-old competitors, is a divorced, ex-Navy father-of-three who was rejected from the women's Olympic qualifiers last year because her testosterone levels were too high.

Ricci And Tres, 29, beat 13-year-old Shiloh Catori to claim first prize at The Boardr street skating contest at the Lower East Side Coleman skatepark in New York City on Saturday, taking home $500.

The competition was open to all ages and abilities, but its heats and finals were segregated by gender. ".

You won’t get answers, *Elshiva•. We never do.

We, as women, need to fight tooth and nail against this subtle and not so subtle erosion of our womanhood. Do not be fooled, it is men who are behind all this and their insatiable greed for power over us.

THIS.

I am appalled at the erosion of rights.
And there’s something horribly cynical about basically using women’s natural compliance to start gaslighting us about our own biology.

Two questions I always ask those who buy into this nonsense

1. Imagine you’re stuck in a loft with an angry adult. Who wins you rather be hit by - a woman or a trans woman?

2. My friend who lost her ovaries and breasts and long blonde hair trying to survive cancer - was she not a woman then?

3. I built my own driveway in lockdown using a compactor and my own strength. I may have been wearing trousers also. Was I a man?

DiamondLily Tue 28-Jun-22 04:33:58

Seeing the fuss my DH makes, all moaning and whimpering, when he has a simple head cold, my mind boggles at the thought of him giving birth...?

SueDonim Mon 27-Jun-22 22:47:16

Human race would have died out, Nankate as they’d only do it once. ?

NanKate Mon 27-Jun-22 22:07:03

I wonder how they would cope with the pains of childbirth ?

NanKate Mon 27-Jun-22 22:06:00

Sorry SueDonim you pipped me to the post.

NanKate Mon 27-Jun-22 22:04:40

Well if transwomen are going to fake a period, I hope they have some way of experiencing the pain as well. ?

Chewbacca ?

IKR, Smileless. Some of them even claim to have period pains. hmm

Yes, at my work there are now GN toilets. Guess which ones were taken over? Clue: it wasn't the Gents'.

So now there are Gents' and GN, and no Ladies. And yes, the seats are left up, and there is pee on the floor.

Given that women always have to wait longer for a free loo, it seems 'inconsiderate' to allow men to add to the problem - almost as if we are second class citizens.

Sounds like a case for direct action to me. Simply relabel the toilets, so that the gents is GN and the ladies is the ladies again. Bonus points if you can get convincing looking copies made in the style of the original signs. Put a boiler suit on and take a tool box and a clipboard, no one will challenge you.

Tweet saying :

"It's harder for straight people to criticise this for fear of being called homophobic, so as a gay person I'm going to say this straight up - this horrifies me. It's creepy, resembles totalitarian regimes, is massive and unwarranted overexposure and never seen for other groups"

Iam64 Mon 27-Jun-22 19:59:06

There’s an entertaining thread on mumsnet where people (ok women) are self id’ing as all kinds of things

Smileless2012 Mon 27-Jun-22 19:52:00

That calls into question the mental stability of any man who would want to use such a thing. What's the point? It's hardly going to recreate having a period is it.

Chewbacca Mon 27-Jun-22 19:24:56

I've just asked The Great Arnoldo (otherwise known as the ginger tom) what his gender is. He directed me to the empty space under his tail and glared at me malevolently.

SueDonim Mon 27-Jun-22 18:57:34

My cat’s never told me what his gender or pronouns are. Maybe I should ask him. I mean - they. grin

Chewbacca Mon 27-Jun-22 18:40:23

Sanitary products aside for a moment.... I've just noticed that the packet of Whiskas cat treats (the ones that caps leap through brick walls for) that I bought today are "proud to support the LGBTQ community". Tiddles will be delighted. ?

SueDonim Mon 27-Jun-22 18:37:22

OK I am totally lost for words now. What exactly are biological men going to do with sanitary products? The mind boggles. I know I've seen adverts for dresses and realised that they are being worn by men but this takes it to a whole new level shock

I hope you’re not having your dinner right now, because this is what can happen. Look away now if you have a sensitive stomach!

Biological males can buy a capsule thing filled with artificial blood. The capsule is inserted ‘where the sun don’t shine’, melts and the liquid seeps out onto a pad. ?

At least we have experience of periods when so fractionally less ridiculous, I'd say. smile

It's difficult enough to find enough women's loos, given the limitations of human biology in not allowing females to pee standing up. We need more loos than men do for that reason alone. This is totally ridiculous!!! angry

We are rapidly becoming second class citizens, Doodledog. angry angry

Oh, for goodness sake!

Non-females advertising products that are needed only by females.

mobile.twitter.com/CrownOnMyFrown/status/1534597927657684994

Do you think that GNers could apply to advertise these products? After all, as most, if not all of us are post-menopausal, we don't use them either and so we would be just as useful as the men involved. No more ridiculous either, IMO.

DiamondLily Mon 27-Jun-22 14:29:08

It's a university, so not just staff use them (we lost the private staff ones some time ago in the name of democracy?). In the building where I am based I guess about 50/50 male female.

My grandson is at a Uni, and is totally uncomfortable about sharing a loo with the females. He says the females feel the same about sharing their toilets.

They have just labelled them all as gender neutral, with daft posters on the door telling people to "be kind", and that complaints won't be welcomed.

But, neither the students nor the staff were consulted - it was foist upon them.?
