First it was Jennifer, then it was Carrie…

..the now PM focused more on seeking to get his women money or positions of privilege than doing the job. Today’s revelations in the Times highlight how the PM sought to appoint Carrie (Symonds as was) with whom it was known he was having an affair, to a significant role in the Foreign office while he was Foreign Sec. This was directly against the ministerial code. In addition she lacked either the qualifications or experience for this £100kpa role! Colleagues prevented it from happening. So this is the person who ‘make all the right calls’?

are you suggesting he thinks with whatever is inside his underpants? god what a gross thought

MaizieD Sat 18-Jun-22 19:12:29

I think she's suggesting a bit of corruption going on there, JaneJudge. Jobs for your squeezes, especial high ranking, highly paid jobs, are not really in accordance with the high standard of conduct expected from a minister, or a mayor...

Apparently they were caught in his office in a compromising position by colleagues. Something Matt Hancock resigned over.

I have read about this. Doesn't surprise me in the least with this self serving man.

MaizieD Sat 18-Jun-22 20:39:08

Whoops!

That story was on msn, the Express and the Times and it's been pulled from all three.

Someone's got an injunction against it very fast?

I wonder if Gnet will pull it from here...

MaizieD Sat 18-Jun-22 20:40:20

Sorry, the Mail, not the Express.

Someone said this morning that this would have finished previous PMs but the media, particularly Dacre and Murdoch are acting like life support machines keeping the rotting body of Johnson alive.

I think everything Johnson has done since taking office would have finished any former PM, but he's hanging on in there...

I’m beginning to wonder just how much is hidden from the public, with regard to Johnson’s behaviour.

I’m beginning to wonder just how much is hidden from the public, with regard to Johnson’s behaviour.

Much, I suspect.

Despite this we know enough to form a clear opinion.

His school report, relationship history, employment history, what his mother, sister and colleagues have said of him and the evidence he has provided in writing during his career leave us in know doubt of the nature of the man.

Still his supporters defend him. Why?

As I warned these Tory MPs many times, the one thing you know with Johnson is that there will always be another scandal just around the corner. It is who he is and what he does. And no amount of media cover up can save him from his own realities

Our PM trying to give his mistress a £100k Govt job when Foreign Secretary did not

CvD66 Sun 19-Jun-22 18:20:36

To add insult to injury, Carrie had to leave the job she did have at the time, due to poor performance and dodgy expense claims according to….the Daily Mail. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7230155/Boris-Johnsons-girlfriend-Carrie-Symonds-quit-job-Conservative-Party-expenses-claims.html

Johnson did a runner when he should have been in Doncaster, because he knew the story about Symonds was going to break.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 20-Jun-22 07:12:05

According to a Sky Editor, Carrie Johnson is behind the injunction on the Times, because there are other scandals that the Johnson’s are trying to keep a lid on.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 20-Jun-22 07:16:09

More truth in this than first realised

Whitewavemark2 Mon 20-Jun-22 07:19:23

“While his wife of 26 years and mother of four of his kids was having multiple operations and treatment for cancer, Johnson was trying to appoint his mistress as his £100k pa, Chief of Staff.

The guy DRIPS WITH ETHICS. Of course he doesn't need an adviser.”

GrannyGravy13 Mon 20-Jun-22 08:12:12

This was in Alan Duncan’s Diaries, published early 2021, not exactly new news

CvD66 Mon 20-Jun-22 08:22:22

So why suppress it GrannyGravy13? It seems much of this came out in Lord Ashcroft's book serialised in Feb this year by...The Mail. However this story is now suffering the Streisand affect: a phenomenon that occurs when an attempt to hide, remove, or censor information has the unintended consequence of increasing awareness of that information, often via the Internet.!

Farzanah Mon 20-Jun-22 09:14:10

Well if suppression was the aim it ain’t working. Anyone seen what’s trending on Twitter?

MayBee70 Mon 20-Jun-22 09:24:53

Conservative MP’s must have known about this when they chose him to lead the party. It doesn’t say much about the party in general, does it?

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 20-Jun-22 09:38:58

MayBee, how right you are.

Farzanah Mon 20-Jun-22 09:52:05

No it doesn’t MayBee Just have a look at Elegran’s post on Ian Hislop and the committee on lobbying to get a flavour of MPs ethics.
