I love GB News

I recently started watching GB News and am finding it so interesting. Once you get past the different format to the usual news programmes it is very good. There are so many different views expressed from all political spectrums. I like that contributors are allowed to say their piece and it's then debated. Not just left or right wing views.

We really like GB News, especially Nana Akua, Calvin Robinson, Neil Oliver and Nigel. The evening discussions are very good and it makes a change from the bland mainstream media.

GB News is only constrained by the profit motive. Unlike the BBC which has to watch what it says and does because the govt is always breathing down its neck

good again today, defence spending, sensible money saving tips and sport, all with a different guest. Good and sensible questions and comment from the presenters. Quite uplifting start really, not the doom and gloom on bbc.

A poor man's (and woman's) Fox News. Anyone who thinks it is 'balanced' need only to watch a bit of Fox News to see where it is going and what it is destined to become.

Anyone see Mark Steyn slogging off J Vine on GB News this morning. Just because J Vine appeared on his own tv show talking about his bout of covid.

And that's the channel that some of you love.

Mamardoit Sun 03-Jul-22 08:51:50

I wouldn't say I love it. It's one of the channels I watch if I have the time. If I'm minding the DGC I don't have much time. I'm doing the school run and concentrating on the little ones. It's just a group of people discussing issues of the day. It doesn't change my views on anything and if it offended me or I thought someone was talking bull s**t I'd turn it off.

I don't watch JV so I have just watched a link of him taking part on the show from his sick bed. I thought it was fairly pathetic if I'm honest. We have all been ill so 'get the picture'. It was totally unnecessary. I didn't see Steyn slagging him off but I can see why he did. Having said that I don't watch Mark Steyn on GBNews either.

I did catch something on Friday's GBNews which I will watch again. A quiz which was mimicking Have I got News for you.

Well I really do like GB news. A couple of the presenters I’m not over keen on, but the majority are fine with me.. I like the format, l have come over from sky News
I also read the daily mail…🤓

MrsThatcher Mon 19-Jun-23 16:04:25

I love GB news as well - view points from all sides and good discussion.

MerylStreep Mon 19-Jun-23 16:19:01

I couldn’t watch Eamon when he was on Good Morning, but now he actually makes me laugh out loud in the morning.
The interaction between him and Isabel is soooo funny 😄

If some of the naysayers were to watch it they would hear more disparaging remarks about the tories than any other station.

They do have members of the shadow cabinet on. John Healey was on today. So they do have those who would like to become well known. The interviewers let them speak too.

They have someone from the shadow cabinet every morning.

Patrick Christy at the moment ripping the tories apart. You won’t hear what he’s saying on any other station.
They all took the kings shilling.

Because I was going to start a thread, but then thought I would see if I could find one and I did, what’s your problem? it’s not exactly ancient!

Oldbat1 Mon 19-Jun-23 17:52:53

It is dreadful! The presenters are simply dire. Who wants to listen to Rees Mog, Farage and the like. Not a decent presenter amongst them. It would be laughable if it wasnt purporting to tell facts.

MerylStreep Mon 19-Jun-23 17:58:26

Andrew Doyle is a Left wing comedian. His show is very good. The humour might be wasted on some, though.

Primrose53 Mon 19-Jun-23 20:11:14

I like it because presenters say what they like not what they are told to say. Anne Diamond and Eamonn Holmes are old school, relaxed and professional. There’s a beautiful young black girl called Dominique and my goodness she is one to watch out for, very bright. Revd Calvin Robertson is fab. Michelle Dewberry never minces her words. Stephen Dixon and Isobel Webster are both very good presenters. Nana Akua is another smart woman who is passionate about many subjects.

They have some great guests on including pop stars, ex criminals, comedians, self made business people, sportsmen and they all have interesting stories to tell.

I know people love to hate him but Nigel Farage has a wide range of guests on and is extremely knowledgable about all sorts of things other than politics and goes out all over the country and has discussions and is always very polite and respectful and his audiences all seem to like him.

On rare occasions I switch over to see what BBC and ITV are up to but very quickly turn back to GB News.

GB News commentators cover the entire political spectrum from centre right to right of Genghis Khan.

It's very lightweight, with too many "has been" presenters, but it is an alternative to the mainstream news programmes.

They do have some interesting discussions on there, although they don't seem to get any of todays well known politicians going on there.

So Streeting, Braverman, Stride, Hunt, to name a few, not well known enough for you.. Who is a has been. All the presenters were working with other news channels before going to GB news.

tickingbird Mon 19-Jun-23 21:23:00

It’s doing very well much to the chagrin of those that said it wouldn’t last. People are sick of the banal, pc news channels, GBN tells it like it is. I like it too.

Couldn’t have put it better myself…😁

Well said 🙂

Up to you, as long as you understand what exactly you’re watching.
The ‘I’ is one of the more balanced sources, this is their assessment.

I dont watch it but none of that scares me. Anti semitism, conspiracy theories etc are found in the guardian and on Twitter, I look at both.

growstuff Mon 19-Jun-23 22:42:35

It seems to have been successful in attracting the "underbelly" of older, anti-woke viewers.

NanKate Mon 19-Jun-23 22:49:28

Anti-woke viewers, that sounds good 😀

Just an untrue insult as you don’t like GB News.

I’m not old, neither are my DD’s and DP and when we have time we all watch it, it’s interesting, a bit more relaxed and unstuffy than other news programmes with all sorts of guests and viewpoints.Sometimes even more left wing than we are sometimes politically more right wing depending on presenter and guests.I bet as a channel it’s doing well, and deservedly.
