Who’s next?

GrannyGravy13 Tue 05-Jul-22 20:29:03

This is my busiest day / night of July and politics kicks off my schedule is doomed, as is Mr.Johnson ??

Iam64 Tue 05-Jul-22 20:30:08

Is this the beginning of the end for Johnson? He’s so shameless and self seeking he may need dragging out and who will do that?
Why do we pay these people to make laws. They don’t appear to know what an indecent assault, or sexual harassment is.

Reece Smug needs to understand, it isn’t ‘a little local difficulty’

According to the Guardian these ministers have been silent so far.

Nadhim Zahawi, education secretary

George Eustice, environment secretary

Grant Shapps, transport secretary

Penny Mordaunt, international trade minister

He isn’t letting the grass grow - Steve Barclay just appointed as health secretary after Sajid Javid's resignation

Maggieanne Tue 05-Jul-22 21:00:55

Our MP has just resigned, Bhatti! Funny that, perhaps their plan is to join slimy Tonys' new party and then take over completely

BlueBelle Tue 05-Jul-22 21:16:32

Dr Seuss comes to mind more than ever They ll all start getting posts and leaving posts faster and faster until they all fall off the spinning merry go round

OH and I were flicking between the tennis and the Beeb. Love it. But where’s Urms when we need her?

I also wondered where Urmstongran has gone - she's missing from the Good Morning thread too (which isn't like her). Hope all is OK.

Carol Vordemann could become Chancellor. She’s always maintained that she’s good with figures and appears to be out of a job at the moment.

You had me fooled for a minute there, I nearly fell off my chair!

He’s foolish to accept. These could well be the shortest cabinet roles in history - we’ll have to remember them for future quiz questions.

Nadhim Zahawi is Chancellor

So does that mean that the announcement that Carrie had been given the job as chancellor isn’t true?

Another extraordinarily rich person.

Someone just said on BBC News that Zahawi is ‘good at negotiating deals’. So, what’s in it for me if I support you Boris’. ‘Chancellor?’. That’ll do……

According to revelations a few days ago she’s blown her chances.

Iam64 Tue 05-Jul-22 22:04:47

Zahawe always seems to me to be a sleazey creep so he’ll fit in well

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 05-Jul-22 22:04:49

And it's still only Tuesday...

riete Tue 05-Jul-22 22:05:20

in amongst all this ridiculousness we really do need a laugh. in my book, "laugh of the day" goes to gramaretto and jaxjacky.

Grammaretto Tue 05-Jul-22 18:52:27
Can I crack open the champagne?

Jaxjacky Tue 05-Jul-22 18:54:12
Not quite yet Grammaretto but make sure it’s well chilled!

25Avalon Tue 05-Jul-22 22:05:47

Steve Barclay has been appointed as health secretary so you don’t need to worry about Matt Hancock returning in that role anyway.

riete Tue 05-Jul-22 22:14:49

... and for a perhaps more serious comment ...

Devorgilla Tue 05-Jul-22 20:02:53
Grammaretto, not quite champagne but absolutely had to open a bottle of wine tonight. Keeping the champers on ice for when they get kicked out at next election. I haven't stopped laughing yet. Addicted to wall to wall news at the moment.

trouble is devorgilla that we really need some better press and public comment for any kind of hope that we'll get a different party in any time soon. too many people are swayed by "comedians" putting down kier starmer, or by the press handing out boring, so that they think there's no point in voting. which means that the idiots who can't see how harmful the tories are get to win again.
we need some political awareness amongst the general populace.

Luckygirl3 Tue 05-Jul-22 22:15:56

It is all sickening. I am sure BJ knew all about Mr Bottom Pincher when he appointed him - just what he wants: people who will toe the line under threat of him dishing the dirt.

I am glad that the cabinet is beginning to crumble, but suspect the timings and motives of all the damned Tories.

M0nica Tue 05-Jul-22 22:16:29

Talk about marrying a midden for muck, Zahawi and Barclay are marked for life for being the rats that joined the sinking ship. Men who put advancement and personal interest before any sense honour and decency

Steve Barclay has been appointed as health secretary so you don’t need to worry about Matt Hancock returning in that role anyway.

But you do need to worry about the remains of the NHS being sold to the highest bidder.
