I’ve never been and never would be a Tory but don’t forget Boris is the more left wing one. It’s rishi who hates raising taxes. It’s Boris who wants to borrow more and give it out. Be careful what you wish for.

I suspect Boris will be wheeled out clinging to his desk and chair. I can almost hear his finger nails scraping against his desk. In my opinion none of his Cabinet members must be in the running to replace Boris as leader of the Conservative party because they have all been complicit in excusing Boris' despicable, lying behaviour.

Resignation letters of both Javid and Sunak printed in full in The Times this morning. Sobering stuff. Difficult to think who might replace BJ.

I suspect he and Carrie will loathe to leave the apartment they spent so much dirty money on.

In my last but one letter to my MP I told her she would be on the wrong side of history but she still said she totally believed in Johnson’s integrity.

I mean I know she was really really hated ( more than Boris even ) but they pushed her out. Why isn’t that happening with Boris?

Margaret Thatcher observed the constitutional conventions and the ministerial code, and, for all that she had a vile political philosophy, she was genuinely 'serving the country (well, part of it).

Have you not yet understood that Johnson has no interest whatsoever in 'serving the country' and no intention of observing any conventions or 'codes'? He just won't go. How are we supposed to deal with that? Even if he is removed as tory party leader he could still sit tight in No 10 as 'caretaker PM' and then devise some way of evading expulsion.

I think the only way he'll be removed is physically, in handcuffs.

Agree with her policies or not, she had standards of moral decency that Boris has probably never encountered in his whole life.
He has no standards by which he is able to judge what is right or wrong.

My MP remains under close scrutiny- if he doesn’t show his hand soon, he and others, will find the next GE very unsettling.

I can’t believe that you haven’t grasped yet that he will be replaced by another Tory minister not by a Labour politician, or had you forgotten that the Tories are in power until 2023?

One good thing might come from his desire to keep his job. They will cut taxes and with any luck raise the tax threshold which could help some of us. Or cut the petrol tax. In order to try to convince the country to vote them in again. Not sure it will work its too late. However I'd rather vote Lib Dem than risk the Labour Party getting in. That would cause even more problems as they don't have enough candidates or experience to run the Government by themselves. A hung parliament is never a good thing. Alliances are made with all the most unsuitable minority parties.

My local Conservative MP has been quite supportive in things I believe in locally but he is resigning before the next election anyway. I will probably spoil my ballot paper or not even other to vote as I don't like any of the current prospects from either of the two main parties. Politicians LIE, ALL OF THEM, always have and always will. They tell you what they think you want to hear and then once you vote for them do something completely difference and always have an excuse.

Does that mean that all these 'extra payments' promised by Rishi will NOT go ahead now? Methinks could be a tactical move that, on Gov'ts part- just so they won't have to pay out hundreds to households to help with cost of living as promised.??

My mistake, sorry - I just looked it up, it’s actually January 2025 (not sure why, maybe it’s 5 years 3 months maximum term?) so quite a long way to go yet.
