OMG! 2025! Really? Oh my word!
Heaven knows what will happen to our economy now. Rishi Sunak is an extremely well qualified, clever and experienced man, and a very capable Chancellor. His replacement Nadhim Zahawi is none of these things.
Is this a result of the Chris Pincher row? So silly. I worked for a place whose national patron was a nuisance. We just made sure no one was alone with him, no closed doors, don't let him be between you and the door. He was after ladies, but the chaps all knew about it and helped us. Strikes me this fuss is political and whipped up by the BBC.
At least it's not boring with old Boris in charge. Interesting it is the two immigrant sons who have resigned and that the cabinet is looking a tad WASP again.
A side issue (apologies) but interesting that people are mentioning Margaret Thatcher. Everyone seems to have forgotten that she was the one who privatised Gas, Electricity and Water companies. How much better it would be for us if these were properly run national institutions now rather that companies out to make a profit for their over-paid board members and to pay dividends to shareholders. Many of them are now offshoots of overseas companies with little or no interest in protecting UK consumers.
what a mess this gov't is in, I never thought I'd see it this bad. I can't see anyone voting tory again, and if the next gov't get in hopefully they'll get some sort of PR established so we never have to suffer this from a gov't few voted for again. we also need some sort of repercussion for any MP who misleads the public and parliament as Boris has done. what a disgrace the tories are
Sadly, certain people will always vote Tory, but hopefully their votes will drop
Two more have resigned, Environment minister and Housing minister.
16 MPs now resigned but 14 were in junior positions. People like Nadine Dorris and Pritti Patel will hang on until the end as they know they wouldn’t get cabinet positions with any other Tory leader. Chancellor and Health Secretary have supported Boris through all the scandals but could see the writing on the route wall so jumped ship in the hope of future cabinet posts or even the leadership will be up for grabs. Hypocrites the lot of them
18 now Nannina and there will be more. Like slowly pulling a plaster off instead of ripping it off in one fell swoop.

I don't think that anyone who mentioned her was admiring of her way of governing. She was appalling and sowed the seeds of the dreadful situation we are in now with her privatisation, destruction of industry and her insistence that 'there is no such thing as society' and that taxes fund government spending, which they most certainly do not.
Let's not forget that she won her first election on the 'Labour isn't working' slogan, when unemployment was 1 million and promptly pushed the unemployment figure up to 3 million.
The only 'good' thing she did was to pioneer the Single Market.
Nope, cc. Many of us haven't forgotten.

Rishi has absolutely no clue about how a national economy works. He's just good at making money. Surprisingly enough this is not a good qualification for a Chancellor. Nor for a PM. I don't expect his replacement to be any better.
The thing about the wealthy is that they make their money by exploiting the poor and sucking money out of the economy. They are leeches, with no understanding of considering the needs of all the nation's citizens...

I hope it hurts as much
I’m all for BJ, but lately it seems that for him, there is one thing after another. I’d hate to see him go, I thought after partygate he might just be able to carry on. He does a lot of good stuff too, maybe this latest is just one step too far. If he goes then I’d rather ‘Dishy’ Rishi gets in as PM.
When can politics get back to as it was before. All it seems is Covid, Ukraine/Russia, shootings, partygate & now this. All the PM & MP’s time is taken up with this.
PMQ’s were interesting and fantastic, all rolled into one. Did anyone else notice that Nadine was staring at Boris with loving eyes? DH says she’s nuts. Also it was annoying to watch her keep whispering. I will now give Boris one week.

It's a culmination of lack of trust, lying (even to Parliament), getting other people to take the rap, broken promises, arrogance, cronyism, etc etc.
M0nica
Talk about marrying a midden for muck, Zahawi and Barclay are marked for life for being the rats that joined the sinking ship. Men who put advancement and personal interest before any sense honour and decency
I’m with you there 100% M0nica.

Why is it relevant that they are both sons of immigrants?

None of that is okay, you do know that don't you?
Men "helping" or not, no one should be allowed to behave that way.
What if the men hadn't "helped"?
I'm disgusted for the women forced to deal with that.

what a country we now live inpeople are more coincerned about what the mps are doing instead ofc worrying about what is a globrl problem france, germany, and italy still buying oil and gas from russia who are intent on keeping the war going in the ukrain thats the so called EU for you thats why the energy prices are going through the roof and as for labour they dont care about the british public and all the people in this country is good for is to comlasin and ask for more money and why are we still weainting for the report from durham police over the starmer party what a one sided country we have become stop moaning and lets stand together to over come the countries problems like petrol and energy and stop holing this cpuntry to ransom with strikes
We need to keep an eye on the MPs and PM as they are running OUR country, not playing a game of tiddlywinks!
