Did anyone else see the banana flipping the bird at Johnson protesters?
Her public middle finger salute to the electorate shows how far down the barrel Johnson has descended to scrape that one into his cabinet.
Does the Tory party seriously expect us to be governed by this parcel of incompetents Boris has thrust upon us?

I think the standard of MP these days is awful, especially where manners are concerned to say the least. I'm becoming more and more concerned about the state of this country and do wonder what the Queen thinks about it all. And as for the 'education minister' - what an attitude!!!

We won't know what she is thinking as she stays silent on constitutional issues and does not defend our constitution.

If monarchists don't think the monarch should perform any constitutional role as head of state, what do they think the point of the monarchy is?

Dickens

Peter Bone seems deeply unpleasant.

He described the introduction of same-sex marriage as "completely nuts" and tried to get the CoE to block the coalition government plans for same-sex weddings in a religious setting.

He also thinks UKIP was a "good thing for British Politics".

... and insisted voters were more concerned about incoming tax cuts than they are about the behaviour of an MP who was accused of groping.

It goes from bad to worse - to even worse still.

He said none of his constituents had complained about Johnson which at the time must have been a lie. He’s always in parliament; even if it’s 99% empty you can guarantee he’s there. I might be wrong but I think he was against mask wearing at one time and, believe it or not Nadine Dorries disagreed with him and I wrote and thanked her. But it might have been one of the others that remind me of Bone eg Chope.

This pretty much tells us what the Tories think of us; don't like what we're doing? Then f**k you.
We knew that anyway but its depressing to have it so publicly confirmed.

There you have it. Johnson's legacy.

annodomini Sat 09-Jul-22 10:52:54

Don't worry. Education Secretary tends to be a black hole into which politicians fall and are subsequently seldom seen again.

midgey Sat 09-Jul-22 10:51:30

I hope she is sacked very soon!

She appears uncouth.
Not what I expect from a MP ,never mind a Minister.
Quite disgraceful.
But then, I am a very old lady, I don’t understand the youth of today, she may fit in well.

Jenkyns also bawled "He who laughs last laughs loudest. Wait and see." as she left Downing Street.

I worry what she means by "Wait and see."

I fear we may be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

My objection is that it is a tied property and should be returned in the condition and decor it was on arrival.
Why should the next resident have to redecorate. Will the taxpayers have to pay?

Dickens Sat 09-Jul-22 08:43:20

*Dickens*. You like this? Seriously?

... I like the overall effect. I haven't studied the décor in detail, just looked at it in passing.

Like any 'Homes-and-Gardens' illustrations of mood-furnishings, there's an overall appeal, but usually depict one or two items I wouldn't give house room.

Taste is very subjective. My own furnishings are very neutral, which some find bland and uninteresting. Apart from shoddily-made goods, who's to say what 'good' taste is or isn't?

Michael Rosen ????

Andrea Jenkyns MP giving the finger to the crowd on her way to becoming an Education Minister, and soon to be giving out instructions to teachers on how to teach British values and instil 'good behaviour'.

Joseanne Sat 09-Jul-22 08:31:48

That's the sad bit Esspee. No sense of decorum, awful role model.

Esspee Sat 09-Jul-22 08:29:32

If you follow my lead children you too might one day be put in charge of the education of all the boys and girls in this country.

Classy!

Sara1954 Sat 09-Jul-22 08:17:36

That really is DISGRACEFUL
I didn’t know about that, too busy admiring the wallpaper.

Just seen the video of Jenkins entering Downing Street and gesturing to the public.

Esspee Sat 09-Jul-22 08:11:41

Hardly classy Maizie and the next resident is unlikely to want to live with it.
When moving into tied accommodation usually you are told that on leaving you should return the property with neutral decor.
Maybe she’ll steam it off?

MaizieD Sat 09-Jul-22 08:06:51

I don't recall having seen any pictures of the refurbished Downing St flat. Have any been published?

I just don't like what I've seen of Lytle's work.

Though that wallpaper isn't too awful, Esspee
