I've lifted my comment from another thread. I would like to agree with**** that if you want to make a décor statement then that wallpaper did the job. It was bright and no doubt hit you on entering the rooms, but that shows you can be bold and experimental with fabrics and wallcoverings. If that is what Carrie likes, then good on her, and she isn't the only one. The prices are what they are for that sort of quality. Fanny you have seen my £200 a roll wall adornments!
And I do have a reputation for good taste!

The one in the picture is not dissimilar to a wallcovering I chose in France for a guest bedroom in blue. It looked lovely.

But is it really flaunting? You show your décor off once to your visitors, but from then on it is just you who wants to enjoy it for yourself. So you might as well choose something you like looking at 24/7. Nothing to do with showing off the price.

Whenever I decorate my home, Joseanne, it is for my pleasure, not for showing off to anyone who visits.
In Carrie’s example, yes, I do think it in bad taste to flaunt her wealth to the electorate, many of whom can only dream of decorating a humble home as they struggle to simply exist, keeping a roof over their heads and feeding their families from day to day. How must they feel when they see this example of spending silly amounts of money to decorate her hall?

It’s very geometric and oppressive looking.
You don’t see much squared wallpaper for a reason.
It’s going to make the room look much smaller than it is.

I will be quite honest, I have bought very expensive paper, for a statement wall. I'm thrilled with it, it's liked by friends who like what I have done.

We all have personal taste, I certainly wouldn't tell people though how much it cost.

It would look very appropriate beneath the dado rail in a Victorian hallway. Crikey, I'm old fashioned.
