Good we've been sending money for years and it's made no difference, most of it lands in the pockets of the corrupt and makes little difference to the ordinary people.

Doesn’t surprise me in the least - this government has shown time and time again that it hates poor people. And if Liz Truss is elected expect the poorest in the UK to be targeted for more austerity - someone has to pay for all those tax cuts she’s apparently going to scatter round like confetti !!

Why am I not surprised? Horrified and disgusted at the idea, but not surprised.

What do the anti-immigrant right think will happen if we don't help to make poorer countries more worth living in? The young and fit (and mostly men) will come here for a better life, of course. It would be in the best interests of the Priti Patels of the world to help the poorest people to make an acceptable life for themselves at home, if they don't want them here, wouldn't it? confused

The fact that it is morally right to spread the wealth of the world out more equitably will pass these people by completely, of course.

That bit of information was from a good knowledgable source.

Rory Stewart.

Apparently the U.K. is not going to send any more money anywhere to the poorest people in the world.

The need has never been greater.
